A DOMINATRIX.

Is there nothing Opie can't do? Making a dominatrix cry is certainly a special talent that most guys don't possess. :)

It still ranks up there as one of my favorite moments on the Ron and Fez show.

Ginny, that 4 hours is the greatest in radio history as far as I am concerned, so I can only imagine what it was like to be there.

I love where the boys are now, but when they were doing 11PM-3AM, there was such an underground, disorganized feeling to the show that you couldn't help but listen because you got the impression that literally anything could happen (and not in a fake wacky way.) Between the bizarre callers, the random guests, and the interesting topics, there was an endearing quality to overnights that you won't replicate in any other timeslot. The current timeslot is good, but isn't quite the same. I think that AFRO+BR show is the pinnacle of everything that made overnights great.

Overnights is a cool shift to have in live radio because you can get away with more--the FCC rules are (or at least were, thanks Janet Jackson) more lax, everyone's a little loopy and looser simply because they're up in the middle of the night and who cares about ratings? So you're free to do and say pretty much whatever the hell you want.

So you take that premise and stir in a support staff that basically knew very little about how radio works, and hilarity ensues.

It was, for me, the most fun I ever had in radio--partly because it was my first job in radio but in large part because I got to work with the best radio guys in New York.
