I say &quot;On&quot; because there is no thing that connects Long Island other than the land itself. New Jersey has its own government. New York has its own government. There is no Long Island Government. I live &quot;In&quot; Nassau County because the government has estblished it as an area. I live &quot;On&quot; Long Island because it is a geographic region. Thats my explaination and I'm sticking to it.
