Like the old addage, if you've lived here forever you should do cheezy tourist crap. Empire State Building. Circle Line (Do they run now? If so BUNDLE UP!).Go to my fave museum-- Museum of Natural History! AND the planetarium. Take in a peep show on 8th ave and get some Grey's Papaya uptown.

I am also on vacation. Its wierd. You work hard all year, count down the days till you get your week off, fight for it and look forward to it, and then it come and ....i sit on my ass and watch the days quickly dissapear. Its wed already and im back to work on Tues. unbelievable.  I cant really afford the many thing to do in Manhattan that are fun. In the old days the prices were reasonable..so you can "pop into this or that" for 5 or 8 bucks. Now even a 45 minute tour of Madison Square Garden (which i splurged for Tuesday) was 17 dollars! Wax museum? i heard you need a second mortgage to go there, and the red bus tours are also expensive. I have seen almost all of current shows on broadway. For xmas I bought the entire family orch seats to see Rent next weekend. I figured its something everyone can do together, its fun, it has a good story etc. If you have any questions on which ones to go see, PM me I also know were to get good seats at great prices.
