My stupid company decided to have their national meeting in SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH this year. The resort we are staying at is really nice, but I've been tasked by several different managers to plan group outings for their teams in downtown SLC.

So far I've found a LOT of Mormon stuff, like the "Modesty in Motion Prom Dress Showcase".

I've heard that they stop serving alcohol really early in SLC, is this true? That will piss off most of my team.

Does anyone know ANYTHING about SLC and cool evening group events I could plan for a bunch of sales people?

a friend went there for business and was warned of "certain areas" but of course there was nothing to fear. also, if you want to go drinking i think you need to join a club or something. not a major deal, but you have to be a member of a private club to get around their alcohol laws.

edit: try this site.

I was only in SLC for a layover on a flight to Los Angeles but I did make one observation.

It was the most beautiful city I've ever flown into. Literally, purple mountains majesty on your right and the Great Salt Lake beneath you. The colors were magnificent.

And please, I have to fly to SLC in Jan or Feb to meet with a client and would love to know if I can get a good meal and a decent scotch somewhere out there. Let me know what you find out.
