Not enough black wrestlers

<p>I was just thinking about this last night while watching Bobbey Lashley on ECW.&nbsp; Why aren't there more black wrestlers.&nbsp; You just don't see many in the bigs.&nbsp; Is there lack of intrest or talent?&nbsp; Or is there a certain race thing?</p>

The reason there's probably not more is that a lot of guys get their start in amateur/high school wrestling and I'm not sure it's a sport that taps into the black population. </p>

Despite the shameful gimmick of Cryme Tyme and whatever MVP is supposed to be, they do have a few black wrestlers with potential. I was sure Shelton Benjamin was being groomed to main event one day but he lacks in mic skills and started slacking off on improving himself. WWE was giving him the opportunity. He just didn't run with it. I'm sure if he stepped up his game, he'd get there easy.</p><p>As for Cryme Tyme, if those guys are worth anything (talent-wise) that gimmick will eventually be dropped. If they aren't, then they'll remain as comic relief with an occasional match to explain why the hell they're even in the company. </p>

<p>Bobby Lashley is a great talent, but there's not much going personality-wise. I think the WWE is trying to regain a &quot;black-friendly&quot; image after the Cryme Time controversy. The only thing that I dislike is that they haven't changed anything. If they were just two gangsta-ish guys, it would make more sense, but every time they have a promo, it's all about them being black. Like Shawn Michaels talking jive and Triple H being scared, or Maria being nervous around them, or Charlie Haas saying &quot;forshnizzle&quot;.
