View Full Version : What's the best R&F Parody Song in show history?

I been listening through the R&F archives over the last few months and there's been some great ones over the years.

The best one, I think, even though he no longer deals with the show, is still Tender Pullman's 'Call That Melted Fezzie Down.' set to 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down' by The Band.

Perry has the best overall body of work, though, by far.

Fez loves dawn, don't want man ass anymore... Could it be that he's gone from gay to bi?

Instant classic.

There was a best of over the weekend that was old enough to merrit Perry's phone song, and I had to stay in the car and listen to the whole thing - and Perry's right - it's not a "parody" song, but it and the others are fucking great - "Fat Baby" to "Gail O". But the phone song: I always look like a mental patient doing "air-cowbell."

And, yes - Sleeves is a mad, mad genius.

"The Call That Melted Fezzie Down" was funny in that moment, but the back story of how Tender pulled it together, with no real knowledge of who Mikey D was, kind of ruined it for me - that and the fact that Tender actually had a much bigger (and funnier) melt down himself a few months later.

I actually get a chuckle from Bobo's "Love Him Tender" - an ironic parody done pleading Tender's case before everyone found out that Cameron Gray might have been onto something with the guy. Bobo had a streak there of some cool shit.

And I am not wild about the "Fez Loves Dawn" song, because it over-does the obvious, and (imo) "Patches" seemed much funnier when Earl wasn't on everyday - suddenly him sleeping and taking a day to hang a picture seems small compared to the last six + months. In all, however, it still is the best because it does capture that moment and held up for as long as it did.

For Ron and Fez show: Black Earl by Brother Joe.

Speaking of Joe, he also did my favorite parody song for the O&A show: Dry Vagina

No one is giving Bobo any love and he has been giving a lot of stuff to the show over the years. I will give him some credit. He did a Fezzie parody song years ago to The Flaming Lips song - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. I dug it because I am a fan of The Lips, BUT I am also a fan of Mr. BobO.

The Bitz Song seems so ahead of its time that one day somene will write the song that it will be parodied from.
yomudder21 wrote:
No one is giving Bobo any love
Look at the bottom of Page One, my man...look at the bottom of Page One.

This reminds me - I need to get my permit for the transportation of Bobos across state lines renewed for 2007.

the best ron and fez songs are:

His Name Is Bitz
Aquaman
and
Friday Night Lights

But I guess only Aquaman is really a parody. Never been that huge a Perry fan but Blowin' Up The Phones and The Ron and Fez Theme are good... the night they had tender vrs perry I thought Tender wiped the flood with him in terms of lyrics and quality song writing...while Perry was just loud and annoying...

Black Earl/Patches is the funniest song parody or not that I've ever heard. If someone wrote a song that good about me I would just walk away with my head down and build a log cabin in the White Mountians.
