i signed away one of my freedoms tonight.

bought some olde school sudafed style cold meds, the sorts now considered a controlled substance by the government and kept behind the counter. i dont think the new non crystal meth kinds worth very well, i have been using post 9-11 dayquil lately and it just does not clear me up and make me feel as non sick as the old stuff did. i almost didn't do it because i didn't want to be in the system but then i figured that we'll all going to be slaves soon anyway so it will make no difference. so i gave over my license, was put in the system as a potential meth addict, and bought some.

i felt a little dirty inside but i want a non stuffy nose.

pretty terrible that i gave in like that for a bit of temporary relief for a problem that will be gone in a few days. oh well, nothing i can do now but go on buying more of it since i have already started.

I am putting it in this forum not because I don't want jokes on it but because it would be interesting to keep this discussion on topic instead of it falling apart into some kind of mess that things seem to go in the confessional forum.

there is so much data out there on what we do everyday that a decent data miner could probably come up with your life story, entertainment preferences, sexual orientation, diet, medical conditions, location, not to mention physcial appearance, income, alchohol consumtion, etc. if they focused on you. I wouldn't sweat the sudafed so much. Christ it's even worse in Britain, I heard an NPR piece claiming that the average British city dweller is caught on camera ~ 300 times a day. WTF? Big Brother like no other.

Tha's why I use cash as much as I can...

I remember one time going into Radio Shack to buy something and I hand the clerk cash....He asks me my name....so I asked him where he lived.....end of story!!!!

Big Brother is in Full effect these days! Way weird.

I'm anticipating a visit from the FBI any day now. When I first starting getting my headcold I went and bought some Advil Cold & Sinus. I had to hand over my driver's license and give my phone number.

The cold moved into my chest and I had a lot of congestion. A friend recommended Mucinex-D, and when I went to the local drug store I saw that all the other Mucinex types were readily available on the shelf, but the "D" was another sudafed product and I had to hand over my license again.

I've got to be flagged as a meth head.

Wow, that is quite the story.

I've honestly never heard of having to give over drivers license's or any kind of personal info for medication. I'm not going against what you are saying but this is new to me. At our drugstores or grocery store pharmacies if something is behind the counter it's because it's a highly stolen item.

For your stuffy nose I recommend a product called Drixoral. I was in a hockey fight six years ago, gave the dude an uppercut and when I landed his head came up and did some damage to the right side of my nose. Ever since then my right nostril clogs quite easily and Drixoral is the ONLY thing that helps. I use it double time when I'm sick because it just dissolves the mucus and makes me feel new again.

And it wouldn't have ever happened, it dumb-ass (and/or) greedy stores, didn't allow people to buy the shit 50 packages at a time. It would have been very easy for the stores to just keep the stuff behind the counter, and not sell multiple packages to customers... or single packs to a sudden rush of 10 people buying it all at once.

working in a pharmacy... this is part of my job. alot of people dont mind, but some do. personally i wouldnt do it because what the fuck, if im buying one box great, if im buying 50 boxes gee suspicious much?

anyway, mucinex works great, we deal alot with red cross 9/11 patients (firemen, cops, construction sanitation, regular people) and alot of them are on that and singulair, and tons of other shit. i digress though, we had to go through training when this law was enacted, and all get "Certified" from the DEA website, and print out our own certificates. fun fun..

heres a lil blurb from the whitehouse drug policy website with how much you are allowed to buy.

Restricts The Sale Of Necessary Ingredients To Make Methamphetamine.

Restricts the sale of medicines containing pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine (PPA) by placing them behind the counter, requiring purchasers to show identification, and limiting how much one person can buy to 9 grams a month and 3.6 grams in a single day.

Products must be sold in blister packs, each of which may contain a maximum of two dosage units

its alot, you wouldnt buy enough just having a cold. also, even if big chain stores like eckerd rite aid, etc keep tabs. how often do you think they check how many sudafed products you bought? funny side note too, before i end my rant (gee i know something about something) sudafed doesnt even have psudophedrine in it anymore, it has a substitute that hasnt been proven to have the same effects as the drug it replaced. remember that before you buy some cold medicine.

btw.. in the midwest there were many places where tweekers and meth cooks would walk into a walmart or some place, with a trash bag, open it up and empty the entire shelf into it and run out.

Yeah. The meds that have the new ingredient, have PE in their name (ie. Sudafed PE). The government recent admitted that the stuff doesn't work for shit, and they need to re-think the recommended dosages.

basicly, "follow the money" approach to terrorism
