I actually got into this show thanks to my eight year old son. As Nickelodeon cartoons go, its actually pretty well done.

M. Night Shyamalan has just signed on to do a big screen, live action version. This will be the first project that he'll do that he didn't originate himself. I'm not sure if I like M. Night anymore. I'm sick of all of the "surprise" endings

Oddly enough, James Cameron is also doing another, unrelated, sci-fi "CGI epic" movie called "Avatar" (his first since Titanic). Look for a studio fight over who has the rights to the Avatar name.

I'm a fan of the Avatar cartoon. Some friends recommended it to me and I devoured it last year. Solid story with some good martial arts foundations.

My chick and I just took her little brother to it. Me and her love the show, but the film was kind of a mess to be honest. He tried to fit the entire first season into this movie and the whole thing felt rushed as a result. It looked beautiful and the effects were awesome, but it was just entertaining at best. And the 3D added nothing.

Well, considering I wasn't expecting 6 movies I'm not disenfranchised that things will be cut and rushed.

My friend saw it before me and told me it sucked and it was slow. I went in expecting it to be a bad movie but it surprised me. Since it's the first of a series/trilogy it was decent. Similar to Twilight, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars: A New Hope. Which by themselves serve as the introduction of the characters and storyline. The 2nd Airbender movie (if it comes out) looks to pack a lot more action as the "revolution" against the Fire-benders starts heating up.

Watched the first Korra, Misti. Ang and Katara totally got it on and made babies! And Korra has a freaking dire wolf!
I have to admit the writing was pretty terrible, but otherwise I loved it.

it's not a dire wolf; it's a polar bear dog.
