i'm sure the money helps a bitbut like you are saying, he is only human.    however for as long as i've been listening to the show i don't know whether happenings like today with Dave, stuff with Earl and Fez, are good or bad for the show.i sometimes think it really shows the "human" side of people, they have quirks and shortcomings just like any other average person and i think that is what appeals to so many people and all of us. we can relate to what is going on with the people on the show. it shows that they are not just putting up a " radio facade " if you will hope that made some sense

Ron shows up for 2 different shows a day every single day and has to make it work with the likes of Farty Pneumonia, The Fainting Goat, and Davey Pants.  He's gotta be exhausted.

Here's how Ron does it.  Look at the show as a family.  Ron is the dad.  Fez is the mommy.  Earl and Dave are their retarded kids.  Ron forces himself to be strong for the good of the family.By the way...I used to hate Dave.  I really hated him.  That puppet crap was just awful radio.  But one thing he will do is continually throw himself under the bus for the show.  So I'm flipping.  I'm pro-Dave.  I think he has a future in radio if he gets his shit together.  He knows no shame.  That being said,  he really needs to get more going upstairs.  He needs to start reading.  He needs to get off the sauce and crack open some books.  READ MORE DAVE!  Pick a wide variety of books and read.  Then you can contribute.  That shit in college?  That's not going to get people listening to you. Ron,  I'm willing to bet,  is or has been a reader at some point.  It shows up in the subject matter and his rapid responses.  The same with Fez.  You can't fake that shit.  The late great Bill Hicks did a bit.  He's sitting in a Waffle House reading a book.  A truck driver walks up laughing and says,  "Well.  Looky here.  Looks like we got us...A READER!"  Then the waitress walks up and asks him,  "Whatcha readin' for?"  He replies,  "I'm reading so I won't end up waitress...in a fuckin' Waffle House."
