Evening all, I've been reading some of the post and a lot of people can't hear R&F across the country on free fm. Here's what I do and feel free to add any suggestions.

Download TotalRecorder.com FREE and schedule for when they're on (saves as an mp3)

www.923freefm.com click live and a stream of their show pops up from 6-9est.

Record for 3 hours

transfer to your mp3 player (I move it to my phone so it looks like I'm working in the office)

repeat at www.xmradio.com

The download is free, but you have to pay to use it. I used Audacity 1.3 Beta. It has the same ability to do a timed recording, and it really is free.

You might be right, a friend loaded Total Recorder for me. Thanks for the suggestion.

What is FreeFM's stance on recording, anyway?

I can't remember what thread it was in. I'm glad it helped. I'm not always very good at 'spaining things.

How can they object? people have been recording with tapes for ever AND they stream the ads with the show, so they should be happy.

That was the same arguement when VHS came out.

I record the XM show daily and listen on MP3 at the next day with Replay AV. I still listen to as much of the FM stream as I can after work, but always miss something, which when it comes to this show is far too much. Here is my problem. I cant figure out how to schedule the FM stream with Replay because it seems the steam changes day by day.

I know it's an easy fix which probably would have taken less time to figure out than this message, but if someone has quick fix for me, that would be great.

If only I were a named geek, I'd be one step closer to filling my iPod with things that make me laugh uncontrollably like a moron in front of others at work.

Once I did, my reason to keep XM changed from O&A to Ron and Fez. Since I got blocked at work, I had to start recording and listening a day late. Still, without a doubt the most entertaining radio I've ever heard. It's almost embarrassing.

If you're doing a timed recording, make sure you get the new beta version of Audacity. Once you do, click on "Tracks". Choose "Timer Record".
Be carefull. When I do it, it always adds one day to the time. Instead of recording for 3 hours, it tries to record for 27 hours. Just change the end date.

When you click it, a window should open in the center. It has "Start Date and Time" at the top, "End Date and Time" in the middle, and "Duration on the bottom. You set it, then click "OK".

You have to leave the audio running.
