I don't watch too much history channel, I spend a lot of time on Discovery HD though. My new 'smart' channel is equator HD, I love watching those types of channels...it's even better in HD!

bobogolem wrote:

The sands of Present Time are running out from under our feet. Zombies are more likely to destroy the earth than global warming. I just hope global warming will happen sooner so I won't have to wear long johns everyday.

There's nothing smart about the history channel. Their programming now is seriously:

1. Dan Brown-esque/Knights Templar bullshit

2. Completely speculative shit like what you're talking about that isn't based on a shred of evidence. By the way, since the end of the world hasn't happened yet, why would it be on the history channel? I mean, they had a special on the Antichrist once I saw flipping through, whose conclusion was "Who knows if there is one? Or when he'll come?" What? I needed to sit through an hour to find that out? That's their big special? That's not good history. It's just bullshit.

3. The history of oil refining. Seriously, who gives a fuck?

I liked the History channel better when it was derisively called "The Hitler Channel" and just had all those old tapes from WWII and 'Nam. Plus shows on guns. That shit was great, and they still have it, but it's way less than it was. But I guess the Military Channel has filled that role. But seriously, the history channel is geared towards morons and a lot of shit that they say is just not history at all.

I'm not sure if it was the same program but my favorite way is when scientists accidently create a black hole, which grows as is swallows up the earth from the inside out. We'd get to watch that on TV for a few hours before we cross the event horizion!!
