View Full Version : Will Earl be the R&F Iron Man Executive Producer?

I've been doing a little bit of calculation, and right now Earl has the second longest tenure of any Ron & Fez Show Executive Producer, behind Al Dukes.

Al Dukes began as E.P. in December of 2000. I'm not sure exactly what date he started, but to give him the benefit of the doubt, I'm saying that he started on December 1, 2000. Al stayed on until June 14, 2002 when he lost the "loser leaves the show" match to Rory Hamptons. All told, Al stayed in place as the Executive Producer for 561 days.

Earl began as the Executive Producer on September 12, 2005. If he stays on in his current position, Earl will tie Al on April 27, 2007 and pass him on April 28, 2007. As I gave Al the benefit of the doubt by giving him all of December 2000, likewise, I am not taking away the one day where Earl allegedly quit the XM show. Also, this is number of days rather than number of shows. Number of shows is more difficult to figure out, and measured that way, Earl would pass Al in fewer number of days taking into account the FreeFM shows and that R&F worked over Christmas break in 2005. This also only includes Executive Producers from the Ron & Fez Show and does not include Ron & Ron producers.

The question is, can Earl pull it off, or will he meltdown prior to that time?

He'll make it. That would be a whole lot of 'behind the scenes' turn over if Dave is infact done.

Although it may have happened before they came to XM...before my time so I don't know.

It just seems odd that the show has such a history of producer turn over. Are other shows like this or is it because they get so much air time we know about their commings and goings?

If they haven't gotten rid of him at this point, there is a good chance they will keep him around for the immediate future. Apparently he has made a career out of doing just enough work to keep his job and not screwing up so badly that he has to be fired.

If Dave is gone however, that could change the tambor of things. Earl could be completely out in the open and vulnerable without Dave to deflect some of the criticism. Still, I say he beats the streak.

Billy is correct. Earl doesnt have 1/2 the responsibility Dukes had. As far as time he will beat him in days but so far to me Al Dukes is producer 1 Earl in number 2.

the only way earl doesn't make it is if FM and XM both cancel the show, otherwise he's there until he dies or wins the lotto.

and although he beats the record for time as producer in april, he'd have the record for number of shows produced long before then. so there.

The thing about Earl that gives him a little edge is he has very good common sense to know not to get himself into a situation where his job is in jeporday.......sometimes.

I think he'll be there so long as he doesn't make a really stupid mistakes.

"It's still Rocktober" ~ Ron Bennington

Giving Al Dukes the benefit of the doubt and crediting him as starting on December 1 is quite different from saying you won't count the day that Earl quit. That day ended Earl'f first run as EP, and the next day started his second run.

Naturally, Ron and Fez deserve the most credit for that, but part of that is due to Earl. Earl's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I would love to see Ron let Earl make it right up to the day before becoming the IronMan, then Promote Earl to second mike and demote Fez to EP, for a day, just to make Fez's carreer complete and at the very least cause Earl's record to carry an asterick *

Earl's reign has ended at 1223 as EP of the Ron & Fez Show.
Was Dave named acting EP as of Monday? If so, only 1221 more days to unseat Earl as Iron Man Executive Producer!
