I just think some of the lines that come across during discussions outside of callers are hysterical.

C'mon ... it's old school, Ronnie.

((silently prays))

I agree wholeheartedly.

I know it's a pain in the ass for Ron to listen to callers, listen to Fez, listen to his producers, and read thousands of IM's all at the same time, but hey....that's why he has 2 radio shows. He's a master.

And the instant feedbacks are usually funnier than the calls.

I know for a fact that I was brilliant with all of mine.

I have to agree with GVAC the instant feedbacks are funnier than the callers most times because, the host is reading them off and or adjusting them to make them funny!

Come on, Ron!

We can IM from our phones but we can't Paltalk!

You're omitting a HUGE part of the audience!

BRING IT BACK!

Please?

Remember when Ron ranted the other day that the callers used to be better in "the old days?"

There were also a HELL OF A LOT of Instant Feedbackers.

I think bringing this back would allow the pyramids to be built once again, especially since most people are working when Ron and Fez are on and can't call in.

They could easily IM, though.

What is that noise I constantly hear on the show? I thought that was some type of messaging system they were using for those close to the show.

Good thing you don't ask much.

IF I WORKED IN THE STUDIO I'D PASS RON NOTES THAT SAID THINGS LIKE " do you like me?" AND "its funny when the big ass card holders call in their number and you ignore it"

Good thing you don't ask much.

I don't think anyone asked for the paltalk and twitter garbage here, just the return of instant feedback. Perhaps this is a good way to getting everyone's voice on the show again as opposed to those who like making it about themselves on twitter and or those at home 24 hours a day on paltalk.

Gvac makes a good point in that ANYONE could hit them with instant feedback, even from work/the field. Now I certainly can't claim these messages would be any better than the tripe the likes of Fred, MLC, Frenchy and other insiders have added of late. I certainly can see all the load on Ronnie right now, as he's almost working out there alone of late. I don't think it's any shock he's got a good focus on the interviews and his push to land others alternative venues over the last few months/year or two.

Good idea. No more work than paltalk and more folk can get involved.

not only is it less work that paltalk, you know that AIM IF's would be specifically related to topic; reading paltalk means he has to wade through irrelevant conversations.

What's the deal with the current incarnation of O&A's instant feedback? Is O&A personally paying a license fee to use it? Is Steve?

Back at WNEW, all the shows would use the same original system in the same studio, but R&F never continued to use this one once O&A leaves. I remember Op having read afternoon feedback the next day, so I guess it continues to receive during R&F, so why? It would be far better than AIM, Paltalk or monitoring tweets.

Bring back AIM, if nothing else, but R&F really ought to use the O&A instant feedback if possible. Ron can ignore it at worst, but I think it's a good idea.

I wish we had an instant feed back system. I try and try to call just to have some dope tell me my cell phone stinks and hang up on me. I don't need to hear my own voice on my radio but I'd like to contribute once in a while.

why would the instant feedback system be better than aim? anyone can leave the same message either way.

why would aim be better than the instant feedback system? People without AIM couldn't leave messages.

Right!

Also, you forgot that the IM system asks for locale and email and also reports IP addresses. One has to dig for that from an AIM nick and convo.

Do you have free texting? If so you can use your phone for AIM. I think most carriers have an AIM app. My 2 year old Verizon phone does.

yeah, a stand alone IF system would be better for those reasons, but either is better than nothing.

the o&a one they actually checked you had to download. much less likely to get that on your work comp. and most folk could get aim on their phone.

No, like I said previously, you can't always call.

Especially if you're at work.

Silently IMing works MUCH better.

I happen to drive all day, making frequent stops.

I have to pull over and delay my route to call in as I'm put on hold and wait.

With AIM I can type out a text in seconds and be on my way.

I think FREE FM/K-ROCK was the one that they once said they didn't pay attention to. That was a different system that co-existed with the oaa.com one.

True, but the same can be said of IF by phone. There's no real advantage to AIM unless you expect Ron to actually go back and forth with you.

Exactly.

Not true. Several times, I was able to use AIM to send Ron links that were useful back when they were at WJFK. Plus, it's always fun when he would read something said on AIM.

Plus, you can contribute stuff that's pertinent to a conversation that wouldn't get to them in time if you had to wait for call screening and "on hold" time.

How is it not true? In what way is it less fun via IF? Links can be sent that way as well.

Again, IF is no different. There's no advantage to AIM short of a two way conversation.

The only disadvantage of texting your instant feedback is that you need to "sign" them or else, they can't tell who they're from. Opie is always complaining about that.
