I am very interested. What kind of place would we be looking for? I don't have a huge preference, but could it please be somewhere inside the beltway. I have a lot of trouble motivating myself to go all the way out to Fairfax on a Friday night.

Ok, what kind of place would be good for this? I've never organized something like this so I have no idea what kind of place would work. The bars I like to go to are usually small, and that's probably not ideal. Anyone have any paticular area in mind? Have any of you guys been to the places on H St? That's supposed to be the hot new area, I went there last weekend and had a blast. But its not easy to get to, the bars there run a free shuttle from Union Station and the X2 bus goes there from China Town. Most fun places in DC are not very metro accessible.

THe Old Ebbett GRill has a pretty decent sized bar, and the food is really good, but parking is a little tough around there

If we're throwing out suggestions, I'm going to go for the Palace of Wonders. I have no idea what the food is like, but I know there's plenty of parking since there isn't really anything around it. Its not very big, but it has a very interesting and unique atmosphere.

I'm going to put nofficial vote in for Whitlow's. It probably has the best size/location/price/atmosphere. On the weekends when they have live music there's a cover after 9, but if you get there before 9 you don't have to pay it, and its only like $5 anyways.

I already pmed Bama this, but here's a few places that I know - I Bailey's - sports bar chain with lots of TVsMackey's - more of a pubCrystal City Sports Bar - the name describes it perfectly. Sort of a whole in the wall. Always crowdedIn DC itself, the ESPN zone is exactly what you'd expect - crowded, touristy, overpriced. But I think I remember decent parking near there. There is also Fado's which is imho, one of the better bars in that new H street area you mentioned. They have lots of beer options. Same with the Brickskeller. Although the Brickskeller is more of a bar bar.

Fado is alright, i've been there once or twice. I like RFD next
door a lot, it's the brickskeller lite. I'm not down with any bar
located in a mall, unless it's Rock Bottom. Is Dremo's still open?
That place is one of my go-to's. And Crystal City Restaurant >
Crystal City Sports Pub (inside joke).

Are we talking weeknight here?

I'd be down with anywhere in Clarendon that is near the Metro.

In DC, around Dupont there is Lucky Bar, Big Hunt, Brickskeller and Buffalo Billiards.

Whatever place we can get the most people to and is preferrable not slam-packed is fine with me. I'll be there either way.

There's another place in DC, not far from Dupont on 16th & R. It's called Townhouse Tavern and it has food, a pool table and a kick ass juke box. Not likely to be overcrowded and probably reasonable by DC standards. It's walking distance from the green and redline metro. It's a pretty chill place. Not sure about parking.

My vote is for Townhouse Tavern!

Come out of the station and take a right onto Clarendon Blvd. Follow Clarendon Blvd past Wendy's & Taco Bell and you will see us on the left. Look for the totem pole.

It's about time someone thought about having a bar night for all of us folks here in the DC,MD AND VA area. Why should NYC have all the fun. I'm all for it. It just sucks that I already have a previous engagement for that night. I will be at the Rod Stewart concert at the Verizon Center that same night. depending how long the bar night goes, I could definitely stop by on the way back. I would love meet everyone. I met some DC people at the Ron and Fez XM gig last summer that's about it. I look forward to meeting some more people. cyaaaaaaaaaaaa

Thanks in advance to all the people who are going to buy Bama and I drinks to welcome us to the DC area. I know I don't need to remind you that neither of us has a paying job yet.

We need to have some ladies there so it's not a complete sausage fest. I know Crazy Jen is going to be there and while she's good eye candy, that's a strictly look but don't touch arrangement.

Is DR. DREMO' the old Bardo Rodeo? That place is huge and very laid back if it is still like the old bardo. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I just got back from Dremo's. I like it. It's a lot nicer then I expected when I looked at it from the outside. It's also pretty big.

When I got there at around 8 it had a lot of people in the front area. When I walked to the back with the second set of pool tables there was a lot more room. We could all meet up back there.

FYI - they check ID's at the front door so you need to be 21. Don't think that's news to anyone but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Sounds good, Bama. Thanks for checking it out. We should probably set a time for everyone to meet up and then post the new thread so we can get some plugs on the show.

What does everyone think about 8pm? I wouldn't do it any later, because people show up late anyway. Earlier could be a possibility if anyone is interested or coming straight from work or something.

Thoughts?

I used to go to Bardo's occasionally. This will be my 1st time going since it changed to DR. DREMO. Looking forward to seeing everyone there as well.
