What's the essential song that defines rock n' roll? The one that first comes to my mind is Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin. But what say you?

I'm listening to the end right now, by the doors, and it just makes me want to dod rugs. I guess that's pretty rock n' roll.

i've had a little wine and i'm farther from the answer than before. do you want to know what song best defines "rock and roll" or the song that rocks the most, or the best song in the genre rock and roll? it could go a lot of ways.

still, it can't be hotel california.

I vote Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin.

It was a close call over Rock and Roll Part II by Gary Glitter, and Rock and Roll Music by Chuck Berry.
