View Full Version : Long Island Bar Night?

I am interested in putting together a bar night for the Long Island Ron and Fez fans. If you have suggestions of a good place that would be centralized and hopefully on a train route or if you would be a person that might attend lets hear about it. I don't have a specific time or place lined up but want to start with a plan. Of course Jersey and New York City fans are welcome as well if willing to trek to out area.

i like st stephens on central ave in valley stream. its close enough to nyc that you can get alot of queens people and probably more people from bk and parts unknown. and its really close to lirr valley stream station. and i can smoke weed comfortably anywhere on LI so this will probably be my first board event, and if anyone needs rides to/from the trainstation ill be available because i doubt ill be drinking alcohol i probably will be rocking the ganj however, just to keep people informed.

I would be interested.

Some bar ideas. Croxleys. It's kinda small, but they have like 70 beers on tap. Pretty good food. One in rockville center, one is new hyde park.

Mulcahy's. It's huge, and right near the LIRR. It's in Wantagh.

Slates. It's a bar/pool hall. It's a pretty big, the pool tables are awesome. It's in bayside (technically queens), it's 2 blocks from an LIRR station, and there are some other local bars right by there as well.

I'd be in. Always down for new peeps..

Croxley's is a great suggestion- Mondays and Wednesdays its 10 cent wings. And Mulcahy's is good too, about the size of an airplane hangar.

where the hell is Wantagh i assume your coming from bk, you take the northern state or southern state east hop on the wantagh expressway south take the number 27 (sunrise highway). its close, or just take the babylon route on the lirr, and get off at the wantagh station.

I would LOVE it if it was in Mulcahy's! Its like a Home Depot sized bar! It is right under the train station, so all you'd need to do is stumble up some steps and you can head back to the city/Jersey without a car. If you do drive there though, be careful of cops. If I drove, I'd park a few blocks away to avoid any hassles. They have a $10 cover charge, and even though the place can hold about 1000 people, it can get packed!

The only reason I think it is a good idea is because it is central on the island and easy access to city and Jersey folk because of the LIRR

Croxley's is a real bar. and they just expanded the Rockville center location. plenty of room.

Though I don't live on LI anymore and I'm unlikely to go, I absolutely 100% back Furie's statement that Croxley's is a real bar and the others are loser LI bars. They stink.
Too bad Big Daddy's is too small. The food is crazy good. Missy & Jeff it's not too far from you (Massapequa right off of Sunrise Highway near the mall) so you should go. YUM YUM YUM

I don't think Mulcahy's is my thing but it's been getting mixed reviews here. Croxleys or whatever you call it sounds more my style. Personally, I'm all about the smaller venues but that might not be practicle in this case. I'm pretty far out on the island (talking exit: 72) so the farther from the city the better for me, but again might not be practicle for all involved here.

Just my two cents.

I'm down to check out the Croxley's in Rockville Center this week. How many people should I say will be possibly attending? How many bought the braclet for the Jersey Bar night? If someone from Long Island wants go check it out with me or has info let me know. Croxleys has great wings and alot of different beers on tap. Rockville Center for those who arent familiar with the area has a half dozen our bars that we can end up bouncing around if Croxleys gets too packed or boring.

I think Mulchahey's may be better only because it's right below the LIRR station so all NYC and NJ listeners could get there without much problem. Also it's central on the Island so the east enders can get there will little hassle. Many of you city dwellers don't realize how rough it is for us Suffolk County fans to get to these events when they're held in Deep Nassau, Manhattan or Queens. Throw a bone to the Eastern Long Island folks and I think you'll get a very good crowd. St. Pat's day is probably bad only because most clubs are gonna be packed. We should schedule it for a Friday or Saturday when there won't be much going on. I'm not too far from Mulchahey's if you want me to look into doing an actual gathering there, but they'll want definitive numbers.

R&F fans should remember the Downtown was the location of Big Ass Night of Fights 1
There's show history here, people!
