The guy had checked himself into a hospice over a year ago, then decided he wasn't ready to die, and checked out of the hospice to  hang on for another year. To be blunt, I never understood what the fuck he was talking about. Never got his humor, but......, goodbye, politcial satirist funnyman (at least to some people). To me he is kind of like the piano playing political satirist, mark russell. not a clue on how they made a living in politics and humor..... then again i enjoy esd's brand of clever politcial banter.

I met Buchwald when I worked for Ritz Camera. He was the kind of person who, as you soon as you saw them, you knew EXACTLY who they were. He was a very nice and funny man.

I certainly dispute his humor quotient, and would love for you to link something from him that was actually amusing or just funny. he's dead, and it is not very nice to speak ill of the dead, but i am not going to just fall lock step into the &quot;emporers new clothes&quot; with this guy. i think because&nbsp;but he was&nbsp; a public figure, he&nbsp;can be discussed in an objective way-good or bad.&nbsp;that he started in an orphanage, was in france as a marine in ww2, had a very noticeable lisp that he dealt with,&nbsp;and later was read by many is commendable, nice? who really knows, and he wasn't funny in my book.&nbsp; i'd really appreciate a link to something he wrote that was amusing, really. he definitely was distinguished in his appearance.</p>
