I have to admit an affinity for Oasis since the "Whats the story period." Hell I found "Standing of the shoulders of giants" to be better than the former album. My point in this is...what former "huge artist" do you still follow

Huey Lewis was huge back in the day and was def a product of the times.  They are such a joke now and were even shown off in that light in AMerican Psycho.

i'm a huge pearl jam fan.  i think their new stuff is better then the old stuff.

I used to listen to Marilyn Manson back in the spooky kid days, before the fake tits and the make-up and contacts and all that other bullshit that made him a household name for a while. Can't stand what it did to his music, but holy shit did it make him huge. I say this fully accepting the fact that I love GWAR for doing even cheezier shit and going nowhere for it.

I spent hours dubbing tapes in high school and now with sites like sugarmegs you can download the 70s in moments. I still have a shitload of tapes though. Were the dead ever really "huge" though?

First, I'd say Oasis is still pretty big. As far as I go:-Duran Duran-Smashing Pumpkins (reuniting early this year, plus I followed most of Billy's side projects...yikes)-R.E.M.-Radiohead (I hesitate to throw them in though, because while I think they've lost heat, I still think they're big.)

I dont know if Alice In Chains would be huge in regards to today's " pop " standards but I think they'd still sell a lot of records.They really werent ever as huge as soome of there brethren ever where with the excpetion of that short time when Soundgraden was over and Pearl Jam was either lame or just not putting anything out.I actually liked it better when AIC was more in the background than those other groups.I still love all those 90's grunge bands.

'Mechanical Animals' is worlds better than anything else he ever did musically. If it's not the perfect homage to Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars, I don't know what is.
