im not sure. i dont think you can judge a band from seeing them on snl, late show, tonight show, etc. did it sound bad, or you just didn't like the music?

I like some of thier stuff but not all.

I liek the shins

the shins is a great band. the more you listen, the more you like them too. their songwriting is too good to be fully understood the first time you hear it, with really witty puns and double entendres.

trust me, listen to chutes too narrow again.

I'm not too familiar with the shins. I did read recently that there was alot of in band fighting and they were on the verge of the splints.

They are playing Phantom Limb all over XM...........I'm not totally sure if I am into that sound. It doesn't seem to have anything new to it to grab me. They are a great band though.

I like them. I enjoyed their first two albums. This album leaked a while ago (I had it in October). I gave it a few listens and nothing jumped out at me and havent listened to it since. I'll probably give it another shot.

If you look here its getting very good reviews.

I like them, I started to get into them when I heard them in Garden State. I bought that soundtrack due to them.

They didn't change my life. Natalie Portman is a damn dirty liar.

That Garden State bullshit was the worst fucking thing possible to happen to a band like this. They make very well-crafted power pop. No, it won't change your life. No, it's not earth-shattering. But thanks to that movie and that mumbly hack fawning over them they're expected to be an "important band." They're not. The new album starts out good but the second half turns into a mess when they start trying to expand and grow and whatever else bullshit "important bands" are expected to do. Please stop, the Shins. Go back and do what you did well. Some bands don't need to be all fancy and more complex with each album.

I never listened to them solely because of Garden State. I saw my brother had one of their albums(no idea what it was called) but it didn't grab me in any which way.

I heard Phantom Limb on the radio at work and immediately thought that it was the Beach Boys, upon further inspection i've found a couple of songs that i like of theirs.

I have "Australia" on my Myspace too, so i am teh $up3r k00|.

their harmonies and melodies definitely have a beach boys sound, which i think would be a tough thing to pull off well, which they do.

see if you can find their cover of the postal service's "we will become silhouettes"

Murgh.

I will have no ties to the Postal Service and their crappy covers of crappy songs.

Iron & Wine did it better anyhow.

This sounds awful. What kind of music is this?
