I swear, nothing is better than tailgating. I love it. You and your friends, food on a fire, the comraderie, the "adult beverages", the football, everything is just so... right.

Plus, somehow, I ended up with five more t-shirts than I started the day with. (don't ask)

I'm just rambling now.

My favorite tailgating story was going to the Lacrosse NCAA Final Four. My whole lacrosse team went and we stayed in Maryland the entire Memorial Day weekend. There was more food that we knew what to do with.

Tailgating definatly rocks! Ever have those tailgates where they are so much fun you "forget" about the game, continue your binge drinking and sell your ticket?

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

The fact is that tailgating is a beloved American tradition. Anybody who doesn't think that tailgating isn't great is obviously a damned weird-o!

That's right Cubs fans....I'm looking at your non-tailgating arses.

My buddy and I bought a partial season ticket plan for the Mets about 10 years ago because he's a huge fan and I just love the game. I still had my Ford pickup back then and we'd get to the lot early, put the hibachi in the middle of the bed, and cook up a feast while we sat on opposite sides on top of the side rails.

It was fantastic.

Whoever thinks baseball and tailgating don't go together is mentally unstable.

that's what i thought the tread was gonna be about

i don't know if ever tailgated (execpt sitting in the car at the jones beach parking lot drinking tall boys)

is there any difference betweem hanging out in a bar before hand and tailgating ...?

is tailgating more of a suburban thing ...?

It's something you do if there aren't good bars within walking distance of the sports venue.

Or if the bars are packed like they usually are.

You've never been to Giants stadium for either a Jets or Giants game?

You wouldn't believe some of the food that's cooked up prior to the game. Not just burgers and dogs ham 'n' eggers are fans, you know.

I've had everything from filet mignon and lobster tails to French pastries cooked right there in front of me.

It's an amazing thing, especially when you start trading food with the 'gaters next to you.

Actually its something you do if you have available parking to take advantage of. Imagine having the space to tailgate & good bars withing walking distance.

Trust me...its awesome.

this is crazy talk.

tailgating is an experience within itself.
setting up the grill.... the fryer.... etc
breaking out the finger foods while the good stuff is grilling... all while drinking beers or other beverages with your buddies and maybe tossing a ball around or socializing with other fans.

i can't imagine JUST going to a ball game could ever be as fulfilling as making it a full event.

i'm basically just a yankees fan, and really haven't had much more than stan's ... i've gone to a few golden globes championships with my fater-in-law and we've gone to great westside resaurants

i think the closest i'll get to tailgaiting is hitting the local italian deli before the game for sandwiches and sides -- who knows if the new stadium will allow outside food

I have the luxury of doing all the pre-gaming for baseball on the spacious finished roof of my building with a spectacular view of the Skyline. Good cooking, good drinking, good friends, beautiful setting and the game is only about 20 minutes away thaks to the L stop that drops us off right next to the stadium.

You commoners can go about your business with your silly parking lots and MASH-unit kitchens. Us intelligent and handsome people have it much better.

Too bad you guys don't care about the game.

And be honest, Mojo - you have friends?

Wow.

So sad.

Maybe we can have a "Find Mojo A Friend" telethon.

I'm starting to think he's never even been to Wrigley. He's probably a homeless, disheveled mess who begs people for quarters and spends them in the internet cafe.

Poor, poor Mojo.
