im watching the 79 superbowl on the nfl channel and the commentating is pretty dreadful- theyre talking about bradshaw and stauback in a way that youd only talk about retired players that everyone still agrees were legendary long after theyve finished- and the guys have absolutely nothing to say except racking up the yards and really bad drop ins. football commentary sucks now, anyone who lives in philadelphia knows just how many booth guys can barely conceal thier disgust for the eagles. so was it ever any good?

Marv Albert and Boomer Esiason on the Westwood One national NFL radio broadcasts are REALLY good.

Locally, I really like Bob Wichusen for the Jets. The Mets radio team is also very good. I almost always listen to the radio when I'm watching a game on TV because of the announcers.
