Rape scene aside, that looks like a really good movie. I hope it doesnt get overshadowed by the controversy

I really enjoy your sense of humor.

Incidentally, Brokeback Mountain sucked. The whole "forbidden love" story has been cliche since Romeo and Juliet. Actually, fuck that, it's been cliche since Abelard and Heloise. All those Hollywood assholes jizzing themselves over it because it had gays were kidding themselves into thinking it should have won an Oscar. What, so America should kiss its ass just because the movie has gays in it? It's classic hetero-guilt which is an even more insidious form of prejudice.

Luckily there are those that agree with me. I think even Morgan Freeman made a comment sort of to that effect at last year's Oscars, that he didn't think the acclaim was warranted just because the movie had gays in it.

Are Dakota Fanning's parents complete cash whores that they would allow her to film this scene? blechh.

It's just terrible to see a movie get everyone talking about it without advertising it. Unproven social commentary will get more than tired after the next two years.

Now the money part of it may be up there in reasons but I really believe they want to get her an oscar before she gets too old like most child stars and you know hollywood, once they get too old they get no work.

This isn't the first movie to have a child rape scene in it. (bastard out of carolina) Its just the first one done by a major star.

this is a MOVIE, with ACTORS.....actors portray things, thats part of their job. There are many amazing things in this world that make everybody happy and gleeful, on the flip side there are horrors in this world as well. i dont see the problem with any actor portraying a child rape scene, it happens in this world and these people are using their artistic skills as a medium to show that.

Look at what Linda Blair endured for the filming of "The Exorcist", which was over 30 years ago.

The whole scenario of casting an actual 12 year old little girl in the role kind of creeps me out, though. They couldn't find a young looking actress who was a few years older?

The movie will get seen mainly because of that scene in general
sadly it will get overshadowed. We can only hope that Dakota Fanning wont have to continue doing movies where she gets raped in. Unless america needs another good laugh

It sounds no more awful than Ned Beatty's rape in Deliverance.

How can she win an Oscar with a mouthful of caak. Does she talk dirty?

Dakota is giving her Fanning to Oscar....A Gee, a gee, a gee gee gee...

Look at how fantastically normal and successful Linda Blair turned out.

At least she's getting this out of the way earlier in her career. Jodie Foster had to wait until "The Accused."

i fucking hate fox. the guy that wrote that story says dreamgirls should have been nominated for best picture so i take what he says with a grain of salt. the premise sounds interesting, i'll just wait to see it for myself. i once heard rob zombie say that "art is not safe" and i agree. sometimes i hate this country.
