BTW, Michelle JErson is really a prime example of how you fail upwards in radio.  She was fired from New Jersey 101.5, she was then fired from Howard 100 on Sirius, and now she got a gig on WJFK.  Unfuckingbelievable. I've got stories.  Believe me.

The exact blurb.....106.7 Gets "Unzipped" - 1/29 - <img src="http://dcrtv.com/jerson.jpg" border="0" align="right" />CBS talker WJFK-FM has selected Michelle Jerson (right) and Michael Checkoway to host evenings. Jerson, a former reporter for Howard Stern's Sirius show who hosted a radio show in Trenton, and Checkoway, who comes from radio gigs in Atlanta and Philadelphia, did a test show in December based on relationships. "Unzipped With Michelle And Checkoway" will run from 7 PM to 10 PM starting 2/5. Apparently rejected for 106.7's evening slot: former WJFKers El Jefe and J-Dubbs, who also did a December test of their "Hideout" show, which recently got canned by an Orlando station. The "Unzipped" move also shoots down rumors that JFK will put political comic Dennis Miller's new Westwood One show in the evening slot.....

Hey I've got a good idea, lets take a comedy line up, and toss a nutty right wing talk show in the middle of it.  Yeah, thats a brilliant idea.  And while we're at it, lets piss off some great talents we have in the evening slot so they run to our competitors first chance they get.  Man, we're super geniuses.

I listened to the test week and liked the Hideout more and more every day.  Really surprised they didn't get picked up.  But - somebody will grab em...won't they?

What happened to the Ron & Fez XM channel? O&A are getting more and more time on 202 since the addition of the Saturday virus stuff. XM needs a BIG ASS channel for the buddays. It would be the perfect place for The Hideout to land. Maybe Earl will get his shot also with the BRC show.

WJFK/CBS is blowing through PD's pretty fast these days - the guy who replaced Greg Gillespi last fall just left (and Gillespi is the guy who took over for Cameron Gray last year) - they all find out what R&F always said that job was: a male secretary. So many decsions are made elsewhere - often times out of the corporate offices - that it's a meaningless position. The Hideout has many fans at WJFK, and they did have a really strong "test" week, but I'm guessing it was the suits in New York that made the final call. Meanwhile, WHFS has dropped the "Free FM" brand from their station - they haven't changed formats, just the branding. The first of many, or has any other stations abandoned that yet?
