He had a good season, its too bad he wasn't on the Mets this year. If they had a halfway decent second basemen they might not have been involved in the worst collapse in the history of baseball.

True

But the Phillies won the World Series by Making the playoffs, the team and the fans are spent in just getting to the playoffs. You guys forgot , theres more baseball to be played.

3 and Done, then I guess you can still make fun of our collapse

No they didn't they made the playoffs by making the playoffs

Yeah totally I had no idea these playoffs were going on, thanks for the reminder

The Rockies had to win 15 of the last 16 to get into the playoffs. So those above statements are crazy talk

3 and Done,

wow going out on a limb now that they are down 2 - 0
then I guess you can still make fun of our collapse

no I appreciate the great season the Phillies had, I really could care less about the mets

Has anyone nailed down Mesa's true age? I think he's like 42.

What MLB could've been looking at in the NLCS:

Phillies Vs. Cubs
2 HUGE baseball markets, two of baseball's most historical teams, two teams NOTORIOUS for losing.

What MLB will be looking at in the NLCS:

Rockies Vs. Diamondbacks
2 expansion teams that nobody gives a shit about.

:wallbash:

What is happening to baseball?

And can anyone explain why the two biggest NL markets are scheduled on TBS when NOBODY will be watchng them?

Phils vs. Rockies @ 3pm Wednesday and Thursday. Great. TBS must go by the motto "it's 5 o'clock somewhere."

Cubs vs. Diamondbacks @ 10 pm Wednesday and Thursday. I just love this 1:30 in the morning bullshit to get the final analysis of the day.
And since the Thursday NYY vs. CLE game went into overtime, TBS started the Cubs/Dbacks game on TNT then CHANGED THE CHANNEL back to TBS once the Yankees lost.

I bet if it were Atlanta vs. the Phils, we'd see a different priority on the Turner stations.

C'mon Phillies...you beat the Mets now you are gonna go out like punks. I cant stand to watch that shit either. I have to admit I have a small, smidgen of admiration for the team that beat my Mets. But I cant watch them lose to the Rockies of all fucking teams. Hell we ALL can play in Colorado.

2 down sucks in opening round. Hopefully they will piund their asses when the series resumes.

This is really painful. Work really sucked yesterday. I watched the game on my cell, god bless mlb.com & web browser. Got allllll kinds of shit at the office. It was easier watching them lose in person.

Hopefully we'll have more luck in colorado. :help:

Come on guys have some faith. I know it looks bad but this Phillies team has been counted out numerous times this season and come back. They fought tremendous adversity to win the Division.

Last night listening to the fan was so irritating. Met fans having the balls to call up and talk shit on the Phils. If anything they should be hiding out of site, I know I would if roles were reversed. Maybe they are so used to playing second fiddle to the Yanks they have embraced the hater roll. This one jizz bucket calls up and says I knew the Phillies would lose to Colorado because pitching wins championships. Like Jeff Francis, Ubaldo Jimenez, Josh Fogg, and Franklin Moarles are the 72 Orioles. I know they always say new york fans are the most intelligent of all sports fans ( for the record I am a New York fan I am a Giants, Knicks, and Rangers fan) but if that is true I'd hate to hear the dumbest. I know the Phillies pitching sucks but so does the Rockies. Anyway don't give up yet Phillies fans!!!!

Them winning two in Colorado is not going to be easy but with that line up it is very possible. One game at time just like down the stretch!!!!!! Lets get behind the team. Its all gravy at this point anyway.

Thats what I was saying at work. We are known to come back from behind so I still have faith but these boobs I work with are already throwing in the towel for me.

Today is casual Friday at work, I have a job interview at 2:30 so I'll do the whole business attire gig than I'll strip down to my Rollins jersey afterwards. Hmmmm, think the jersey and heels is too casual????

This sucks. Such a great team, but such a stale bullpen.

We need some more pitching to back up Cole and Kyle. It's just that simple.

I like how theyre mixing the champagne with Coors light.

Nothing against the yanks, but I hope this 3-0 thing becomes a trend.

Yes, my only hope now is that the Yankees lay down and die tomorrow. Or at least Clemens does.

Congrats on playing 3 more games than the Mets. You really took advantage of them.

Exactly. It stinks to see a team go down like that after battling the way that they did. But then as everyone always says, the post season is a whole different monster from the regular season. Next year the Mets and Phils can battle all over again.

Well after not making the Playoffs since 1993 it was nice to finally get a taste. Would have hoped for a better showing against Colorado. The Bats went cold at the wrong time, it happens. The silver lining is that they finally took the next step. After having the third best record in the NL over the past five years (behind St Louis and Atlanta) they established themselves as the best team in the NL east. It was a great season and Philllies fans have plenty of reason to be very optimistic for the years to come.

Phillies in 2008!!!!

Oh don't feel left out, a year from now no one will remember the Phillies got bounced by Colorado in the first round. 50 years from now the epic collapse of the Mets 2007 season will be recounted. Congrats!!!!
