Just thought I'd share my solution to recording the shows...

Between work and family commitments, I rarely get to listen to the show live. I've worked out two options that have helped me quite a bit.

First, I purchased a MyFi. Back when the MyFis first came out, they were quite expensive. Now, they are incredibly cheap. Using eBay, I was able to purchase a pair of MyFi units with all the accessories for $30 plus shipping! Now, I use the MyFi to record the replay at midnight. Then I listen to the replay during my Long Island Rail Road/Subway trip the following day. If I can get reception where I am working that day, I'll also record the show from 12-3 and listen on my commute home.

Second, I'm using an application called ReplayRadio by Applian Technologies - http://www.applian.com/. ReplayRadio can automatically record audio and produce MP3s. It can, for instance, automatically tune an internet radio station on a schedule and record. I use RR Monday through Friday to record the FreeFM show.

ReplayRadio supports recording directly from the XM internet feeds, but I've found this feature to be unreliable. About 50% of the time, the program will crash when recording XM. When I plug my MyFi into the computer, however, RR is able to record just fine. Every weekend I use this setup to record the replays.

The MP3s generated by RR get loaded onto a small cheap MP3 player. When I'm travelling I use the MP3 player to listen while in airports, on airplanes, etc.

Hope this helps others.

Regards,

Mike
