View Full Version : Place to crash for Big Ass Bash

I'm looking for a place to stay Friday night (23rd) after the Big Ass Bash. Stugots messaged me a few hotels, most around two bills which seems like a waste because I'll only be there for a few hours. Hotel Pennsylvania seems like the cheapest right now and it's next to Penn Station.

I'd like to stay either near Penn Station or the Hard Rock.

Since I haven't been to NYC since I was a child, how hard (and long) is it to get from say Penn Station to 111 West 57th?

Traveling alone is gonna be weird.

there is a new hotel in Ny called " The Pod" Its pretty nice. I havent stayed there but seen pictures and watched a special on tv about it. Its suppose to be affordable, very modern Nyish artsy, and most important cheap. I think its $89 for a room with a bathroom in the hallway for 4 rooms to share (sounds wierd but they showed it and it was real nice) but for $10 or $20 more you cna get a room with a private bathroom and shower. Every room comes with a ipod docking station. It loks cool.

Here is the link. Dont ask why its not pod hotel or something dot com but good luck and let us know how it is.

http://www.pickwickarms.com/

i never heard of it. seems cool.

fallon, from the hotel penn, you can get to anywhere in the city in about 15 mins. every train is at penn station. The N, R and W go to 57th st and you come out about a block from the studio. when you are here, you can always call me if you are lost. I might be off that day and would try to meet you for lunch, if you want.

also, check out hopstop.com for train directions.

fixed the link.

I have stayed at the Pickwick Arms many, many times & it was fine & very cheap, like $49 a nite to sleep in what amounted to a non-denominational YMCA. So now the price is almost doubled w/ the name change, but it's still among the least expensive places you're gonna find.

just go the the ER after the party. the one fezzie went to for his heart attack was nice and real close to the studio. they have warm beds and clean sheets with nurses that wash your sack! breakfast in bed as well as cable tv. for me it only a fifty dollar co-pay

The beauty of mid-town Manhattan is that it's layed out like a numbered grid. It's just about impossible to get lost.

You can catch a subway to Columbus Circle (the dark circle on the lower left hand corner of Central Park in the above pic) and the boys' studio is a short walk from there.

I'm probably in need of a place to crash too... And Fallon, if you take the F train and get out at the NW corner of 57th and 6th, all you do is go around a corner and you're right at the XM studio ((which, is wonderful when the weather is ridiculously cold)).

I go from Penn Station to the XM studio 3 days a week, I go down 7th for a block, then go down 34th to go to the subway at the corner of 34th and 6th. Take the F train, its the 3rd stop, and it couldn't be easier.

Cancellation policies for most hotels are 24/48 hours. But if you book online through a place like hotwire, priceline, etc. - sometimes they are "special" internet rates that are prepaid and cannot cancel
