During the Grammy discussion, the bbbboys, mainly Opie, ranted about how The Police were fucking up "Roxanne" by doing it different than the album version. The also did this with Sting awhile back, saying that he should only play his hit songs instead of trying to perform playing a lute and singing ancient music. This irks the shit out of me. Lately on O&A, as soon as a topic comes up, I know exactly how the bit is going to go.  Would O&A be offended and get pissed if every caller said that they should go back to doing the same bits they did on Demented World? The listeners want something new and exciting, not the same old shtick over and over again. I like the show, but lately it has been struggling. The hypocrisy of bitching about people telling you how to do a radio show while you're telling someone how to play music is just way too frustrating and sad.

That's a good point. O & A kill me sometimes. Believe me, I understand they have 6 hours a day to fill with talking but they bable about nothing most of the time. That, and the fact that O, A, and Jimmy are the same person. They all go after the same joke with the same timing. I mostly just tune in in hopes that Patrice will be on.

Love the O&A show.  I never go to them for musical opinions, especially Opie who fancies himself a musical expert of sorts.  He's not, his musical choices are fucking terrible, and I just could care less.  I don't take everything O&A say to heart, they're funny.  If I can laugh as they're bashing something I love, like The Police, they're doing something right.Just laugh.

They're just trying to get a rise out of people by taking a shit on what for many people is a sacred cow that they've waited years to happen - the police reuniting. Good for them I say. I think people are making too big a deal out of the police reuniting anyway.

Has anybody noticed that Opie has been bringing ZERO humor to the table lately? I mean, worse than normal? Lots of times there are just uncomfortable pauses after he bombs- like Ant and Jimmy are too scared to even car crash him.

Sure, but it's not like every thread about them here is anti-O&A (and even if they were, who cares?).  Look at this thread...the guy that started it is clearly a fan.  He doesn't seem to hate the show...he's critical of this bit and how he thinks it's reflective of the show lately.  It's not like he's calling them "radio ebola" or trying to insult them as much as possible.Its like this is ALMOST an O&A board because the 2 shows are friends, so they're trash them here, but would never go to Wackbag to say it. It's not even close to being "ALMOST an O&A" board here.  Yeah, there's show crossover, but at the end of the day it's a totally seperate radio show.  Why should people go to Whackbag?  We have a forum about other radio shows so people can...wait for it...TALK ABOUT OTHER RADIO SHOWS.  Positive or negative opinions.Also, no one gets all pissy and defensive about O&A bashing so it goes un-noticed.  People seem to get their little feelings hurt when you bash D&M too much.  That's when the fun begins. Fine.  If you wanna refuse to see how kind of hypocritical it is to basically call people out for not being "brave" enough to go Whackbag to post their "trashings" of O&A but then see nothing wrong when people get annoyed by your constant D&M bashing.  Personally, I don't care.  Neither show is R&F.  I don't like seeing it when people go after you just because you don't like D&M and it bugs me when you turn around and act like you need to defend O&A.  It's a pretty silly double standard.

Don't take anything O&A say seriously.  If Sting agreed to an "in studio" they'd be tripping over themselves to blow him.  Hell.   They almost tripped over themselves to blow Larry the Cable Guy.  There you go.  Larry the Cable Guy vs. Sting.  Now ask O&A which interview would be in the best interests of their show.  HINT:  It wouldn't be the one saying...YEEEHAWWW...We need GAWD back in the classrooms.  And saying it unchecked by the way.I kinda doubt THE POLICE tour will be ruined by O&A.

O and A(specifically O) do one thing lately that drives me batty.  When proclaiming their own prowless, they will say "Who else works this hard/long a day?"  How about your fucking midday show which works a LONGER day(3 XM hours vs. 2 and change).
