gas money do you spend a week. i just realized that I usually spend anywhere from $30-$40 per week. I have a Honda CRV and mostly do hometown driving, but i also sit in my car with the engine running sometimes. Does this waste alot of gas? So I am asking you people what is your average & what kind of car/truck/whatever {I am just being nosy on the car question}

I spend about 20 every 10 days for a 95 carolla. And the wife spends about the same for 2 weeks driving the 04 Civic. But she works only 5 miles away. The toyota gets about 35 a gallon and the civic about 33. Letting it idle wastes alot of gas. I lose about 5 miles per gallon during the winter because I got to let the car warm up for her in the morning.

Yea so it must be the idleing thats getting me to spend the xtra $ because I do not drive that much. This question may sound silly but, does anyone else keep there foot on the gas while they drive? Maybe thats why I waste alot of gas also. Maybe I just do not drive the correct way.

PapaBear

I'm so confused about answering this. Are you saying you keep you foot on the gas (with a stick shift) when you're sitting still? Or... Are you saying you push the pedal to the floor, every time you accelerate, (with an automatic)?

If you drive a car with an automatic transmission, it sounds like you "punch the pedal" too much. If that's the case, DRIVE GENTLY!!!

StupidGirlllll

But are you suppose to keep your foot on the gas the whole time?
