The reason so many new posters launch their ronfez.net careers with a negative comment isn't so much that they aren't fans, but has to do with this "thing" in human nature that dictates negativity is a much stronger motivator than positivity.

You hear this phenomenon all the time in talk radio. When a topic is brought up, no matter how the public is really divided on the issue, the phones light up with complaints - negative comments usually outnumber positive by huge margins.

You see it in politics...A public official will receive a strongly negative response to a position via phone calls and letters, even when a poll is conducted of the constituency that shows an entirely different picture with the vote or position being strongly supported.

The good news is that when listeners have a negative response to something that happens on the show, they will be motivated to sign up at ronfez.net to complain. The bad news is that their first posts will be negative. The worse news is that if they are unable to vent their spleens they might not stick around and mellow into listeners who aren't chronic buzzkills.

A thread deletion or post threshold might be held against RonFez.net or the Ron and Fez Show. A middle ground could be to move the threads into a separate axe grinding forum.

So if a negative and a negative interact, does it becomes a postive??

Example

newb: "Fuck this shit, this shit sucks!" (Negative)

+

poster: "God damn newbs. Dont they know when to shut the fuck up. Fucking negative mother fuckers. Don't post if you don't got nothing positive to say faggot" (Negative)

=

Ronfez.net (positive kinda)

Also, note that new board members (including those with low post counts) and new listeners aren't necessarily the same thing.

I've been listening since the 'NEW days. I'm a BAC holder. Listened to JFK online. Bar crawls and all...I don't go back to Ron & Ron, but it's been a long time loving the show nonetheless.

I don't have 3000 posts because I don't feel a need to post that I agree with everything all the time. That seems like a waste of time to me. My posts are probably widely perceived as negative beause I disagree with most of the people on here on peripheral stuff. I love the show just as much, but I don't blindly buy into everything everyone on this board says. I would think that more than one point of view would be welcomed. Maybe not. I can go back to just checking out the site to get some info now and then. Maybe in the future, you could set up an online application to become a member of this site. You could request information on political affiliations, views on world affairs, taste in music, who they like or hate on the show, etc...and only approve the people that agree with the set views of this site. I think everyone would be happier in that case.

I am a new Kid in town. And I think i am bringing back the positive attitude. All these New Negative attitude posters won't last, they will get board of using Hack jokes and not being funny and having no one even care about what they say anymore that they will fade away into non-existence. Its the way of the forum trolls, i've seen it on other boards I have been apart of. (Not Radio Boards, just some like boring video game boards) But Forum trolls are the same breed wherever you go. Especially with positive newbies like me here, they don't stand a chance
