Do any of you guys have this problem? You come home from work and want to unwind, and your girl asks you how your day went, and you kind of give a non answer. Then they ask whats wrong, and while nothing really is wrong, because you did not answer them in a way that satisfied them, they assume that there really is something wrong.
But that in itself really does bother you!
So, you retreat further into yourself because you do not want to get into it and get into a fight, and so they attempt to escalte it.. Meanwhile, you just are not in a talkative mood!

Does this just happen to me???

Sometimes after a really stressful day I need a some time to decompress. I want to have a few cups of coffee and chill, and I don't want to interact with anyone.

This mystifies women, so don't be so sure you'll be able to convince your chick that you're OK.

My girl is finally starting to realize that sometimes I just do not want to talk. You should tell your girl this, its gonna be up to her to leave you alone until you're ready to be social. I've found that if my girl leaves me alone for just 15-20 min, thats enough for me to get out of my funk.

They seem to read into it that you dont love them or something... It becomes like a self fulfilling prophesy though! Then you end up fighting for nothing. For me, my workday has a lot of women at the office and everything is drama drama drama, so when I go home, I do not need any drama. But what do I get..?

I was gonna post something grossly inappropriate before I remembered I can't. I think the trick is to have a girl that understands that that's just the way you are.

So when you're not willing to share your problems, she thinks you don't trust her enough or whatever.

I get like that alot. Maybe not even after a stressful day even, just want to chill for 20 minutes. Don't ask me too many questions, don't talk a million miles a fucking hour. Just let me chill, I just got in.

I did't read any resposes to this initial post because I just wanted to say

Yes! Holy shit yes! and NO it does not hjust happen to you.

It can be so painful to deal with this shit, because women want to talk about what happened during their day, I just want to unwind! just drink a beer, watch a little news or play some Nintedo, not for the rest of the night or aything just for an half hour or two. I relly have just left the house before, not because we were fighting about anything important but I just needed some damn space.

Okay, I'm gonna read the other responses now...

90% of my life I feel like this, my chick is one of the few that i'll almost always talk to. It's more snap changes throughout the evening that get me, either at home or IM or here (especially in the chat) I'll all of the sudden decide that i'm done. What a freak.

Honestly, after 13 years of marriage, my wife is able to read me pretty well and knows when to let me sit and stew. But like most women, she wants me to ask her what's wrong when she's in a mood and I sometimes miss those signals.

it could be worse. i'm, err, lucky enough to work at the same company as my wife...which is on a good day a 90 minute drive to work. we spend the whole day together. not only that, but we were put in the same department...not only that...but we sit right next to each other...when we look at our monitors we face pretty much the same direction. watch..well imagine...i'm going to wave to her and say hi right now...see...done. so we may not be in the mood to talk, but we are trapped in cubicals next to each other...then a long car ride. we are forced to talk even if we don't to.

I get that way pretty much any work day...Thats why i generally refused to get a celly (even though i work w/cell phones)

I walk a mile every morn instead of taking the bus just to get time away from people. At work, i blast my music in my earphones and usually only talk when approached...
