I def check it out. I am suprised by how good Alec Baldwin is in it. He plays that role perfect. Tracy Morgan is great, and Tina Fey is fucking hot. Def a good show, but just like studio 60, when they get to the part of the show where they do sketches, they are never funny, just like SNL

Anyone watch last night?

Tina fey's parents come home to visit her. When they enter, the father (Dick) says "lemon party permission to land" made me think of the website lemonparty.org, thought it was a coincidence. then later, when insisting to pay for the check he says "Wouldn't be a lemon party without old dick" Wasn't a coincidence, fuckin hilarious.

By the way Baldwin's line "I want to kiss you on the lips to keep you from saying ridiculous things" was maybe the funniest line ever on a network comedy. Was it taken from somewhere else?

last night was the first time i was disappointed with the show. i thought it was the least funny episode yet. even saying that, there were a bunch of funny lines. loved that they were tracking the lohan family and michelle rodriguez with the alcoholic ankle bracelets. was c. bacca meant to be chewbacca or some celeb i'm not thinking of?

I like the way they usually have 3 or 4 stories going at the same time. Last night, the ending was a little weak, but the show always has some good lines. And all the characters have weird personal traits.

Fortunately, Alec Baldwin doesn't do many interviews anymore (I get it, you're a Democrat), but he's great on this show. Tina Fey said recently his character is based on Lorne Michaels.

I'm sorry, I thought last nights episode was f'ing hilarious. I love when they do shows with Jack and his family. His mother turning the Lemons against each other was hilarious.

And yes, the lemonparty references were definitely intentional.

What do you think of it? I've seen it, and I think the show vastly improved by the time they got to air. Having Dratch instead play all of these random character sis a much better use for her, and I much more enjoy having Krakowski there to play a clueless diva kind of character.

just a great show

I think they intentionally slipped in an "innocent" lemon party remark at the beginning of the show to catch the ears of those who know. Of course I explained what i thought they were referring to when my wife asked why i was laughing so much.

Then came the "old Dick" line and we were both on the same page.

30Rock will have a nice 5-6 year run

after which Lorne Michaels will hopefully leave SNL as EP and Tina Fey eventually becoming Exec Producer

NBC has me hooked like its the mid 90s again. About 8 months ago I started watching The Office via syndication and I was hooked, so much so that I bought DVDs of the first 3 seasons to get fully caught up. A few months later I started to get into Scrubs the same way and now I'm hooked there too. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about how much I love these two shows and he said to me, 'do you watch 30 Rock?' when i said no he told I might be missing out on the funniest show out of all three. 2 nights ago I went to nbc.com and started watching this show, tracy morgan and alec baldwin fucking kill in this show. ive never really even been a baldwin fan but i can recognize when somebody knocks a role out of the park, he's done it here. this show is hilarious and it just made thursday nights that much better for me.

OK. I have never watched this show before, despite hearing great things from various sources.

Last night i was watching Rocky Horror and during the commercials i would flip to 30 Rock. At one particular scene Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are walking through the hall as he laments i guess a problem with a woman who really likes him.

So, one of this lines was something along the lines of "She was wearing Dora the Explorer underwear that i can only assume was made from an obese child". I totally lost my shit, it was the most random and hysterical observation i've ever heard.

Is the show THAT funny all the time?

I had little hope for 30 Rock because by the time Tina Fey left SNL I thought she was a hack and overstayed her welcome (not really her fault; SNL doesn't change over its writing staff nearly enough) and figured her sitcom would be the exact opposite of how you described it. Thank God I was wrong.

Oh, I know! I think that's one of the reasons that the show has such a high rewatchability factor for me. There's usually some subtle throwaways that I might have missed the first time around.

I also love it when I pick out a joke that clearly wasn't intended to be interpreted as a joke by most viewers, like the lemon party reference in the episode where Liz's family comes to visit.

does she know how to speak German fluently? she has been depicted in numerous episodes speaking German quite well.

I have skipped many episodes but she sang that song very well, barely an accent.

BRILLIANT.

That was my favorite episode of the season, maybe one of my favorites of the whole series (although me having seen Harry & The Hendersons 50 times as a kid might be clouding my judgment).

I think I missed something, Why does Liz Lemon want to adopt a baby? I thought that was just a movie Tina Fey did with Amy Poehler. And in real life she has a kid, so it can't be something Tina wants and is leaking into the parts she plays.

I'm catching up now; Only just finished the valentine's episode, but I was thinking the same thing. Very good stuff!

I especially liked when Jack was confessing his sins to the priest, and admitted he once stated he WAS god in a deposition, referencing of course his movie Malice.

Loved it. And the Telemundo soap opera jack! HILARIOUS!!

Brand spankin' new at 9:30.

Summary: Joy about the 50th "TGS" episode turns to worry when word spreads about imminent budget cuts at 30 Rock. Before long, Jack must distribute pink slips, Kenneth takes on new responsibilities, and Liz wheels and deals to spare her staffers from layoffs. Meanwhile, Jenna and Tracy suspect that Kenneth is masking a deep dark secret.

If hilarity doesn't ensue, I'll eat my hat.

Looks light a heavy dose of Tracy tonight which can't be a bad thing.

After Liz reprimands Tracy in front of the TGS staff, he decides to straighten up his act and start acting like a professional. Once Tracy agrees to no longer receive any preferential treatment, he feels that Liz should give up certain privileges as well. Jack's mother, Colleen (Elaine Stritch), comes to visit revealing unpleasant memories about Jack's father leaving the family. Jenna adopts a pet gibbon and learns the perils of motherhood.
