I find it amazing that there are not more slips by Ron Fez and crew at free fm. I wonder if they had to do both shows at the xm studio if it would be harder for them to remember which show they were on.
Personally I have a "potty mouth" at work but at home I rarely let one slip (3 girls and a wife).

I agree 100%.

I've often wondered if Ron, Fez, and the gang don't spend the 3 hours in between shows repeating a mantra - "no cursing no cursing no cursing" over and over.

I know I have a hard time myself keeping my language in check when it comes to work vs. social situations.

I work with sailors. We let the expletives fly around the office!

There probably used to not being able to curse, since they have been on regular radio for much longer than XM. Although, I know that even if I was used to it, once I switched to XM and stopped watching my language.... I would slip up a lot more than they do!

Self Control... LOTS of self control

I guest host a local radio show in Ann Arbor every so often and it is amazing the conversations that go on off the air as opposed to on the air. I can't tell you how many times we have been .0001 seconds from letting a "fuck" slip because we are coming back from break in te middle of a heated conversation.

It's almost like we get the nastiness out between breaks.

When we get on the air it's almost like second nature, you don't even think about it. My friends all had a pool going on me to see when i'd let the first one slip due to my horrendous mouth in everyday life and I haven't done it yet in the year and a half i've been on the air.

I am sure its not that easy, but its not like they weren't on regular radio beforehand. I am sure its second nature to them since they've done both for so long now.

I can see how they'd be able to do it. When I'm with my co-workers, I cuss all the time. Then I see a customer, and I'm immediately PG rated.

Because they're professionals. They know what they're doing. I think as far as I know, only once did Ron curse on the air in DC, but other than that I've never heard of them slipping.

I know that where I work as a memeber of management I have to keep things cool and not curse, be professional and I'm pretty good at not slipping up, though outside of work I curse left and right.

it prob feels like back in the day w/ WNEW, esp with the evening hours. i'd imagine they're used to not cursing.
