all r&f fans... to be honest ive never listened to the show.. im checkin out the forums to get an idea about the show, and i really hate the fact that theres so many ppl knockin JV and elvisthey are amazingly entertaining and they are really cool ppl, ive met them in person and they really seem to care about the fans.if u listen to them a couple times and u dont find it entertaining.. then there is 1 or more things impairing ur judgment..1. your an O&A fan and u have to much pride to give the F'n show a chance2. you hate them just because they didnt originate in NY 3. your to damn old and u need to just stfu and let the next generation take over 4. your scared that one day JV & Elvis will run NY (which is inevitable)  all im tryin to ask is to give them a chance, yea they have an attitude, but they are tryin to survive in this harsh area/timeslot being from cali isnt any easier im not bias at all.. i listen to the radio when i have time and i listen to whats good, ill throw R&F on if i happen to be around a radio at the time... ill give em a chance

Radio wars bore me senseless. You like another show, fine. My appreciation of R&F is based on actually listening to the show and appreciating the genius of Messrs. Bennington and Whatley. My distaste for JV & Elvis is listening to it and deciding it's not for me. That's all.

Never heard OF them. Never heard them.  No offense, but listeners that try to force their show or their fav show on me - do more damage for the program than good. Kyle,People here hate JV and Elvis on a mass level for any number of reasons, but one in particular is because well-intentioned folks like yourself call into the Ron and Fez show and yell "Doghouse".  Ron and Fez have never initated any attacks or some such radio b.s. on the JV and Elvis show, and folks will hiccup the flow of the Ron and Fez show, not so much because they are yelling doghouse, but largely because there is a long, ridiculous premise as a preamble for the doghouse closing portion of the call.  The Ron and Fez show, much more than any other, is built on a progression you may hear called the "Comedy Pyramid".  It relates to all discussions, comedy or otherwise, and when someone tells an outlandish but believable setup their doghouse line, you sort of have to unbuild that pyrmamid in your mind for something thats not altogether clever.  A prank call is fine, I think the Radio Shark is generally loved, and he'll break the show flow, but he frequently contributes something with more wit than "doghouse". As far as the show, its hack.  I've given it a listen and its really not up to NY standards.  Thats not to say it couldn't be a hit in todays climate, given the lack of serious competition for the young white male audience.  Their show is like a morning zoo on crack, lots of fake laughter, and it never stops for a moment of quite.  Which can work, Stern in his heyday had that between Robin and Jackie, but there was some original thinking going on there and well executed bits.  You have here people who are presumably all Ron and Fez fans, which is probably the smartest comedy based program on radio today and you have Opie and Anthony fans, who have largely written the book on any sort of low brow humor and are realtively innovative in their own right.  JV and Elvis are pedestrian, servicable players who obviously have a dedicated fan base, but NY radio standards will have fallen if they become a top tier show here.  I mean, they seem like a more male geared Rocky Allen show to me.   Any radio show you listen to and allow yourself to get into their universe and you learn the characters will always have a measure of success because you follow it like some sort of human soap opera, but short of that, what is the substance to these shows?  JV and Elvis fall in with Don and Mike and the Radio Chick, nice shows I guess, and I gave them all a chance, tried to get sucked in and enjoy their universe, and after taking an extended peek, I felt no need to go back, and I guess many JV and Elvis detractors didn't either.  Don't take it personally, I've long ago given up taking it personally in Ron and Fez's case, because in my mind, from an analytical and non-fan perspective background(and I make my living in entertainment if that lends me a shred of credibility) their show at its best is rivaled only by Stern's late 80's/early 90's heyday.  Without taking unnecessary shots at JV and Elvis, their best day couldn't touch Ron and Fez's worst. Thats why you see the hate here.

work just gave me a car, and there is no XM in it as of yet, so i've been listening to JV & Elvin from the 9-10 hour before i switch to WFAN at 10.... here's the problem... The lead guy, who i guess is JV is pretty good, but, the problem is, Elvis just mimics what he says 30 seconds after he says it, it's hack... Everything is a little too planned out in my opinion and there doesnt seem to be any imrpov to the show.....

I realized one day while they had someone replaying that I had listened to their show long before O&A came to FreeFM or anything started up between them. I just don't care for them. I don't compare them to another show and generally try not to do that when I hear something new. I've heard plenty of shows that do appeal to me. Theirs just don't. I don't trash them or anything, but my opinion of them isn't based at all on O&A.

This message was edited by LilLibra on 2-25-07 @ 2:15 PM I think that's the part a lot of these JV&E trolls don't get.  We didn't all just decide we don't like these guys, we gave them a chance.  Most of the people on this messageboard are Ron and Fez fans 1st, O&A 2nd if at all.  Ron and Fez have no beef with the JV&E show.  Ron and Fez aren't telling us to hate that show, they've never spoken a bad word about anybody it seems.  And that's what pisses the JV&E fans off.  They're hoping we never gave the show a chance, but we did and we dislike it.  It's not a prejudice, it's our opinion.  You will find a bunch of O&A fans that hate what the show hates just because they think it's cool, but that's was never the case with Ron and Fez because they hosts never tell us to hate or attack anything.JV and Elvis just suck.

I could never get ovet the fact that they call their show the DOG HOUSE.That was enough not to listen.  Somthing that may have been used in the 90's for your shows tag doesn't say mush about the creativity of the hosts

JV & Elvis are simply untalented. If I didn't have XM I could actually listen to Free FM almost all day if I had too. Except for Jv & Elvis and the Radio Chick. I tried listening to them and it's exactly what everyone else has said very hack and a morning zoo type show.

I can listen to Everyshow on Free Fm except JV and Elvis. They try too hard and are edgy with nothing. Their conversations just dont hold my attention. They are a small market radio show. Nashville, San Fran sized show. They are not a NYC CHICAGO type show that appeal to many different people. In a big city we are used to more edgy radio where in the smaller towns they try to not offend so they can get a greater part of the audience...like a morning zoo. I have friends that like the show but its not for me.Also why would you say anything about O&A here as its the Ron and Fez show site. Make this post of Wackbag or FBA and see how it gets treated.

I was very sorry to see this thread come back too.  There's not much more to say about JV & Elvis that hasn't been said.Unlike Stern and Don and Mike talk, I don't find myself even wanting to bash them anymore.  They're so bad I want to forget they're on the radio.Please stop topping this thread.  Everyone has heard them, knows what they're about and the majority of people in here don't like them.  We made educated descisions on our own, without Ron and Fez attacking them in the least.  They put up with their 5 fans in a very classy way.

It's like this.  Every day I spend 2 1/2 hours commuting by bike, 8 hours pretending to work, 7 hours sleeping, and 6 hours listening to Ron & Fez, and whatever's left over at open mikes, working on jokes.  If I start taking speed, maybe I can squeeze enough time to listen to another radio show.  But my teeth won't be as nice.  It's not that I bother hating other radio shows.  I just don't care.
