For my term project in one of my classes, I need to interview someone who has gone through some sort of significant trauma - a lot of classmates are interviewing Holocaust survivors, 9/11 survivors, family of 9/11 victims, individuals who have completed a tour in Iraq, etc. I had tried to interview a Holocaust survivor, but he is being interviewed by a classmate; he gave me the name of two others, and they both have not gotten back to me. If anyone is in the NYC area or in Central or North Jersey and knows someone who would be willing to participate, please let me know and I can fill them in on the details. I need this interview to be done within the next three weeks, so please, please, please if you can help me, I'd be eternally grateful.

What about a cancer survivor? I bet you can contact like a cancer support group and find someone that had major amounts of cancer or a deadly cancer and managed to survive. I don't know if thats the right type of person but maybe it would be a different spin on your topic.
