Just found out I'm heading home sometime around the 24th of Mar (WooHoo!). It looks like I'll have an overnight stay in Baltimore, and was wondering if any of the Baltimorians(?) could tell me some of the better places to go for food and drink. I'm hoping to not be too jet lagged to check it out. Mainly looking for a local joint that has good food, and a bar with a decent beer selection. Also wouldn't be averse to meeting any rf.netters if they're up to it. So, any recommendations?

I don't live in the area anymore but I was raised outside of Charm City.

Brewers Art is fun if you are into good food and micro-brewed belgian beer.

http://www.belgianbeer.com

The only releasable info I can give out is when I land at BWI, and I don't have that info yet.

Everyone else, thanks for the info! I just need to remember that 5 months without any booze is going to make me a lightweight, and not get too carried away.

don't forget McDougal's off of 695..........it is a dirty strip club and they don't server any food BUT......there is plenty to eat........................ZING!

Anyway you can actually find some nice little pubs/restaurants in Canton, Fells Point, or Federal Hill. Stay away from the inner harbor or you are only going to get chain restaurants.

I really enjoy the bars in Fells Point. I don't know much about the food there, except for this place that had a really good brunch. I can't remember the name, but I think it had 'moon' somewhere in it.
