My son is nine years old and this kid really doesn't look that much bigger than two of the kids in his grade. And that's just two kids who I happen to know about only because I see them at my son's school functions. I imagine that this is not as uncommon a thing as we might think and that there really is something to the whole "obesity epidemic" hoopla.

The parents are obviously ignorant for doing that to the kid. I don't know if taking him away is the answer though. That's going to cause him all kinds of emotional issues that will be harder to deal with then the weight problem.

I for one have had to struggle with my weight throughout my life, and I would never make my kids go through that. If it means they don't get dessert some days, or they're only allowed to have a Happy Meal on very rare occasions then so be it. Sometimes you just have to be a parent and put limits on your kids.

Instead, as you can see here, she's going to pick him up and, with a running start, throw him through wire-meshed window and escape running into the hills to the sounds of native drums and pan-flutes.

It's definitely child abuse. But I don't think she will. Courts always protect fatties.
