Thanks for the support
I'm honestly shocked and amazed at the amount of so-called "experts" who are picking the Reds for either 4th or 5th place.
I really have a good feeling about this team for the first time in a long time. I'm not saying they're World Series bound, but I really think they have what it takes to challenge for the Central Division title.

well thats mainly b/c they had no bullpen
hopefully the moves they made will help
the divison is wide open in my opinion with all the moves the cubs made, cards lack thereof, brewers look like a team on the rise, reds have a nice team, astros have lost a lot of pitching but gained some power so they'll be a factor

Even the Pirates are looking significantly better than they have the last few years. Not that they'll be contending, but they could be within the next 2-3 years.

Im watching the Reds-Pirates on the second tv while the Mets are in commercial. I have to say, the reds look like they could have a pretty solid team this year. I like their chanced in the central.
That's exactly what I've been saying, Boss. I'm not overly optimistic, but I definitely have the "why not us?" mindset this year. If the pitching can be halfway decent and the bullpen improved a bit, the Reds have just as good a chance as anyone else in the division.
I'm not ready to coronate the Brewers like a lot of other "experts" have this year.

Fuck yeah, i can see switching hatterberg and conine in and out he fucks with 4 and 5 hitters all the time. The rest is fine, why he has been fucking with the lineup everyday makes no sense. Freel is one of the best leadoff hitters in terms of the combination of speed and obp. Phillips is an alright number 2 with good speed. Griff makes sense at 3. The only complaint could see is Dunn not hitting for avg. constantly so maybe pushing him to 5 and Hamilton has been your best power hitter and is hitting for avg. so stick him at 4. Its not a bad lineup if it gels.

I really thought this was the year for my red legs, but they play like they don't give a fuck. The top 2 starters are as solid as any 2 in the leauge. The offense is there. Griffey is drinking from the fountain of youth. Dunn is always a home run threat. Throw in Alez Gonzalaze suprise offense and Freels speed, thats a good offense. They have the arms in the bullpen. Fuck. I don't know. I can't talk about it until I'm blue, but it's time for the Reds to be the Reds.

Homer Bailey has gotten the call. He's pitching against the Indians on Saturday - I hope he does great and can give us the much needed boost before the Allstar Break but that sure is alot of pressure on the 21-year-old.
Let's hope for the best for him - I don't want him to get shelled and deal with the losses by himself - he's got a great fastball (95+) but let's hope he can develop a little more. I didn't think we would see him for some time (if at all this season).

It was a great game to attend last night - best one that I've been at this season. 38,000+ all staying pretty upbeat. It was an awsome atmosphere for the fact we're about 14 games out.
A little worried about the 4 or 5 standing ovations we gave Homer last night - the kid pitched a good 5 innings but I just don't want him to break down - he's ony 21 for God's sake.
Griffey is ripping the tits off the ball and I'm pumped he's going to be a starting outfielder in the AllStar game...
We gotta a few more tough games against Cleveland this weekend. If we can get 2 out of 3 I'll be estatic - had a few 'Cleveland Sucks' chants going from the bleachers...

Rocka Hula Reds, nice job boys, 2 of 3 from Cleveland. Go Junior!

Junior is on a tear this season.
He is currently 3rd among vote getters in the outfield for the Allstar gGme - ahead of Bonds.
Dunn is 5th.
and Hamilton is leading ALL write in votes with 55K+

The Reds were in need of a strong start on Saturday evening against the Cardinals, and that's just what they got from Kyle Lohse. The right-hander stymied the St. Louis attack for seven-plus innings, allowing just one run on five hits in the 5-1 Cincinnati win.

It's about time!
I know our bullpen sucks and that Harang has been our only decent starter, but there's no reason this team should have the worst record in baseball.

We just couldn't keep Narron, his lineup shuffle job everyday kept this team from getting into any kind of rhythm. Although I liked Jerry, he had to go. Maybe we can put a 2 game winning streak together!!!
