I'm a value price shopper so I only shop at wal-mart. I got a super wal-mart near school, great place to look at at shit at 3 in the morning.

Prehaps Wal-Mart should spend it's money giving its employees a raise instead of funding research that resulted in this BS. I do not shop at wal-mart, though it is a good place to enjoy an acid trip at 3 in the morning. Nor will I forget when my friend and I went to the local Wal-Mart, stole some packing tape and pantyhose, and constructed fake penises (we used black pantyhose as the "skin", shoved 1/2 the eggshell packaging into one end to make the head, and stuffed waded up packing tape into the hose to make the shaft). There was a house in town whose mailbox was designed to look like a pair of legs wearing blue jeans, to which we attached the penis at 4 in the morning. We drove back by when the sun came up, and could see the penis flapping in the breeze. Good times.

This has nothing to do with the thread. Sorry.

I avoid the place as much as I can... I will go there whe they have something on sale that is a deep discount, or if we need a lot of different things that week so the price difference between walmart and Target will make the large rude crowds worth it.

Besides the whole political aspect of hating Walmart, I just plain don't like their stores or the products they sell. The stores are always filthy, and the housewares and clothing are yucky. Target pwns them.

True. They are a major corporation with a board of directors and thousands of stockholders. Those people all demand that profits increase to keep the stock price high and pay dividends. Most of the products they sell come from companies with similar structures. Because of that, there are thousands of people who insist that they continue to cut operating costs without reducing output, so the employees get less and less of each dollar of sales. The manufacturers of the crap they sell get less and less too, which they pass down to their empoyees. It's a cycle that is replicating the old "company store" of the 19th century.

3. True. But that mindframe is something that started before Walmart and has spread like a cancer in our society. Look at all the new houses that have built around where-ever you grew up. They are big, ugly (or unoriginal), and poorly made. People think that the bottom line is about square footage, not about craftsmanship. It's the buyers fault for supporting the industry as much as the developers and builders for supplying the market.

F_S and S_A think alike.
