I'm pretty much happy with where I am today, but I'm stressed out/ pissed off about all kinds of little things. I was about to start a thread similar to this about whether anyone was where they thought they would be, like 4 years ago I didn't think I'd be what I'm doing now.

I'd like to have a job or a relationship to be miserable about. But you know what? I gave up self-pity for Lent. So I'm not doing it.

I was surprised that I could honestly answer that everything's great. Just got married 3 months ago, just got a promotion, raise, and all the overtime I want, and I get along reasonably well with my folks (probably because they're jonesing for grandkids).

I am very very very very happy with my sitz en lieben! Not perfect, and sure would be nice to get out from some debt, but life is great. For those down in the dumps, cheer up, been there too before. It does seem that certain things get better with age.

Personally, I would have voted for a "no complaints," but things don't really suck for me now...... but it's only a mtter of time.

I would say I'm pretty happy with things in general.

But everytime I say that, I'm reminded of something author Frank McCourt once said

"Being Irish, I can always comfort myself during times of great happiness by knowing that tragedy is right around the corner"

Certain days I feel all is good, other times, not so much... I think its pretty normal though.

But looking at the whole picture, I'm in a place I never dreamed I'd be.

I've finally come to terms with a lot of things that have caused distress over the last few years, and slowly cut people out of my life that cause me much more harm than good. Plus, for the most part, I'm around people I enjoy being around and have fun with. I just feel really lucky.

Life is pretty good for me .... I have too much stress at my job and I worry about money a lot, but everytime I think either of those things are terrible, I end up talking to someone who is on medication for ulcers due to job stress, or that they work over 100 hours a week because their company won't hire them help ... my job is stressful, but it's not like that.

Everything was very good I have a job that I love and I could not make the kind of money I make doing anything else..(NO Collage) BUT... on January 5th My wife lost her job thru cutbacks at Federal Mogul Corp after 29.5 years of service....She went in on a friday and was blind sided...It hurt her real bad...She is trying so hard to find a job with no luck so far...She is hurting very bad being out of work ...So when she hurts I hurt...My 2 boys are great Tyler 18 is a senior in high school and is an amazing guitar player and writer Nicholas 21 is in his 3rd year of collage and Im so proud of that... My health is good (so far) considering I was in the music business full time for so many years........If i knew I was gonna live this long I would have taken better care of myself..(That ole gag)without sounding like the corn ball that I am... This board makes me very happy every day even though im not very good at it... ....Sum it up Jeff!!!...Things will be better when Carol my wife is happy again..............
