Keeps Extra Supply In Freezer

FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- We all have to make decisions every day, but a Fond du Lac man never has to worry about what he's having for dinner -- because it almost never changes: a Big Mac, fries and a Coke.
It's a daily ritual for Don Gorske.
For nearly 30 years now he's eaten at least one Big Mac every day, only missing eight times.
"The main reason is cause I love them so much. Big Macs are my favorite food. They've been my favorite food for nearly 30 years now. I never get sick of them and I look forward to them every day," he said.
And he means every day.
"I like lobster a lot, but I just don't have it very often. When I have it I usually mark it down, and I think I've had it 10 times in my life. But to go out of my way to have it -- it's just not worth it. I might as well have a Big Mac," he said.
"I could not get enough Big Macs at first. I just loved them, the first month I ate 265 Big Macs," he said.
Gorske ate Big Mac No. 18,000 Big Mac Tuesday -- good for a Guiness World record.
He was at Fond du Lac High School for a math class demonstration where students figured his Big Mac consumption. It totaled 14 beef cattle, 560 pounds of cheese and 100 gallons of Special Sauce.
He's even worked his ritual into his family life.
"My kids have probably eaten more Happy Meals than any kids in the world. There's no doubt about that," Gorske said.
Although he skips breakfast and lunch, dedicating his hunger to the Big Mac, his cholesterol is a modest 155. And this Big Mac iron man has no plans of changing.
"I have no idea how long I'm going to live. I'm just going to keep eating Big Macs," he said.
Don missed eight days of Big Macs because of his mother's funeral and blizzards -- when the restaurant didn't open. But he keeps a supply in his freezer now, just in case, so he doesn't miss a day. ThePittsburghChannel.com
