I love Gene Wilder's acting. He can so goddamn funny and then scary and then sad at the drop of a hat. He always seems to be playing a real person as opposed to just a character...And he can sing! His comedic timing is perfection, which is such a rarity. He really went a long way in helping make Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein two of the funniest films ever. And his turn as Willy Wonka deserved an Oscar, no questions asked.

It was kind of said that he really dropped off his career once Gilda got sick, but you have to respect his reasons for fading away.

One of the greats.

Rock it, Gene!

As Sheep and Mojo stated, part of his life is very sad when looking at how much he hurt with Gilda's sickness and passing. As Ron stated, he loved so much, the hurt was that much worse and you have to respect his choice to just lay low after it all happened.

He's one of my all-time favorites and his strange friendship/chemistry with Pryor was amazing. Those two are simply amazing together.

I was in london like 10 years ago, and gene wilder was doing a play. So I figured I would check it out. It was called laughter on the 32nd floor or some shit. It was pretty cool. especially to see him live. Anyway, after it, a bunch of people waited outside to get his autograph, and he spent a pretty decent time signing everyones playbills and stuff. He seemed like a pretty nice guy.
I know he is famous for other things but,
I liked his performance in See No Evil, Hear No Evil with Richard Pryor.

i appreciate.
i can't prove it right this minute, but believe you me, i appreciate.
not every day.. obviously. but when the opportunity to appreciate (or depreciate) comes up, i appreciate him very much, thank you.

I watched this a couple weeks back, and that scene where the cops are trying to get him and Pryor to take mugshots still cracks me up. Love that movie.

Gene Wilders performance as Willy Wonka made me want to get into acting. I owe a great part of my young life to him and my passion for the art of theater/film/screen is definately been affected by him.
I think his response to the passing of his wife is incredibly beautiful and romantic. It shows just how much he was in love with her.

I love all of the movies mentioned and Gene Wilder is a great actor. I also liked Haunted Honeymoon (if this was mentioned, sorry, a lot of the pics came up as broken on my computer). Is it as great as his Mel Brooks and Pryor films? No, but it's still just a fun, somewhat cheesy movie to watch every so often.
