For what it's worth, Saturdays work best for me (since I'm coming from so far away). Also, in case you guys didn't realize...it's my __th birthday which is traditionally known as "the weed birthday". Bobo won't be wearing pants in celebration of my __ years of life but everyone else should just bring weed!

This sounds like is shaping up to be the best bar night yet, definitely not one to be missed. In other words, definitely count me in.

Bobo told me that he's talked to quite a few people from New York who wanted to come down for the bar night. That's one of the reasons that we moved it to Saturday. I think from now on we're just going to do it on the first Saturday of the month.So that's the schedule if anybody wants to make plans to come down.

There are some really good restaurants further up Wilson in between Clarendon area; Viet, Indian, etc. There's even a diner, a Hard Times Cafe, Witlows and more. My favorite Italian food in the whole world is further up still, not far from Ballston (Raffinos). I think closer to Roslyn is Red Hot and Blue (use to be). I'm really not sure what's within walking distance of Dremos, tho (except Taco Hell and Boston Market) but I think there might be a couple of places. I've got the date marked. Looking forward to this!Cupcakey (which is what I will not call you in public) is right - the Blossoms are a bitch to get to on mass transit - lotta walking. Well worth it if you catch it right at the right time, which is usually only one or two days out of the whole thing. Problem is, 80,000 other people will all have the same plan as you.

I agree with all the posts. I used to live in arlington and they're alot of good places to eat there. I'm looking forward to the bar night and seeing everyone again. I'm actually accompanying a friend of mine to the big apple this weekend so I'm hoping to hopefully drop in on bar 9 for fezzie's bday. It depends what time we leave dc on friday. Don't have any idea what the quality is like now...but it might be fun to eat there. Any other suggestions? It's been a long time since I lived in Arlington...oh wait! The Lost Dog Cafe is a great place to eat - it's kinda smallish but very cool atmosphere. (I believe that's on Washington Blvd - closer to Arlington Hospital.)

I suspect I probably wont leave the city until 5pm. which is the last time this bus I usually ride up in leaves to go up there. It drops me off on 34th st by TGI Friday's. I figured I would jump in a cab to Bar 9 Since I no idea where it is and having never been there. I figured cabbing would be best. I used to love going to Cafe Saigon in Clarendon for their kick ass soups. Last time I was in Arlington I nticed they were gone too. that bites. I think I only got to go to Whitey's once. That's too bad that what's in its place blows. I will make sure not to stop there. I love all kinds of food. Thats what I miss most about arlington the variety of restaurants. There this awsome place for Indian food called KABOB Palace in crystal city next to the strip/restaurant and 7-eleven. The have best kabob, rice, spinach, lentil, etc.. that I have ever tasted. Kinda small but the food kicks ass. I highly recommended it if you dont mind all the cab drivers, lol. Now I heard theyre even 24hrs.

I think Bobo's eye-dea is a perfect one! Again, I offer the services of my trusty van "Further". I can fit 5-6 comfortably so as many as want to risk riding with me (a pot-smoking cutter) are welcome. Although, there is a place that's right there near the Clarendon metro - it's been there forever - ummmm...oh yeah - Summers. It's within walking distance of Dremo's. Even tho I lived in Arlington for 7 years - I never ate there. Anyone have any idea if it's any good or not?

Hard Times is near the Clarendon metro, and could be walked to from Dremo's if you feel up to it (its about .75 miles). There's an Ireland's Four Courts (or one of those Ireland's Four somethings) right there. The food is OK, and last time I went I actually got some really bad service so I don't know if I can recommend it. If you guys like pho, there's a Pho 75 right there too, I'm really running out of ideas if you can't tell, but the pho is really good.

I would go with Guajillo since it looks cheap, and I love Mexican food.

I think if you want more options you're gonna have to hop on the metro or drive somewhere else, of course you could always just walk down Wilson and see if anything catches your eye. Just make sure you bring your walking shoes.

Edit: If you're up for Sushi, Cafe Asia (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/?node=cityguide/profile&id=1025382) is not far either. I've never been, but I have wanted to check out their happy hour, which includes a special on nigiri sushi, for a while.

Whitey's has been closed for several years - nice little biker bar dive - beer battered onion rings and that broasted chicken. Really miss it.

Hard Times works for me - Whitlows on Wilson works for me (right next door to Hard Times) - anything ethnic and funky works for me.

I luv the idea of a "park & walkable" place too, but I couldn't eat @ a place called Whitey's anyway cuz I'd be thinkin' of Beaver all night long... that's rite...

I've got to second A.J. on Summer's, it's just plain awful. I have no idea how they are still in business there. My vote is for Hard Times. I mean, who the hell doesn't like chili?

I third that on summers they suck and it is any wonder how they stay in business. I say location is the only thing keeping them in business. not only does the food suck there the service sucks too. I make a point to stay away from that place. Hard times is descent and not too far.

'kay - I know that y'all will think I'm crazy....my son just informed me that he will be spending Sat night with his girlfriend so that leaves my night open!!!! YAYYYYY! Sorry to be posting so late in regards to last Saturday's bar night but I literally have not been able to go online since last friday. Its just been one thing after another.
