The Fallon vs. Matty Challenge [Archive]

Last night, Fallon and I were goofing on each other, when it suddenly turned deadly serious. You see, Fallon is one of the biggest Red Sox fans on this board, and I am probably one of the bigger Yankee fans on this board.The Setup: The Yankees play the Red Sox for six games in April.  Three at Fenway, and Three at the Stadium. The terms of the bet: If the Yankees win the majority of the six games (4 wins), then Fallon must appear at the next official Ron and Fez event (either a station-sanctioned promo or official board event) dressed in a Yankee cap and a Johnny Damon #18 New York Yankees T-Shirt. If the Red Sox win the majority of the six games (4 wins), then I must appear at the next official Ron and Fez event (either a station-sanctioned promo or official board event) dressed as "Matthew Bradshaw Layfield Fridays".  Cowboy hat and tie and jacket. If there is a split, for the sake of the board, then "Bobby Fallon, Johnny Damon's #1 Fan" AND "Matthew Bradshaw Layfield Fridays" will appear at the next sanctioned promo. Disclaimer: Due to personal events, if the next board event or sanctioned promo happens in May or early June, the "payoff" of the bet will occur at the next event after that. Fallon, do you accept? REVISED 3/13/06 at 11AM, with new terms of the bet:If the Sox win the majority of the six games, Matty appears at the next agreed-upon official board and/or station/show sanctioned promotion after June 10th, 2007 in a Red Sox cap, a Curt Schilling t-shirt, and will donate at least 25 dollars to "Curt's Pitch", Schilling's charity for ALS Research. If the Yankees win the majority of the six games, Fallon appears at the next agreed-upon official board and/or station/show sanctioned promotion after June 10th, 2007 in a Yankees cap, a Johnny Damon t-shirt, and will donate $25 bucks to either the Jorge Posada foundation, Derek Jeter's Turn 2 foundation, or the Joe Torre Safe at Home foundation. (His choice) If the games are split, then both Matty and Fallon will appear at an event dressed in the aforementioned Red Sox and Yankee gear.  If there is a rain-out or postponement so all six games cannot be played (i.e. three at Fenway, three at Yankee stadium), the bet may be changed or extended to include the next 6 Yankee/Red Sox games, May 21-23 at the Stadum and June 1-3 at Fenway.  RULES: The hat and shirt must be an officially licensed MLB apparel, in the official team colors.  This means Navy Blue and white and or grey for the Yankees gear, and Navy Blue, Red, and white for the Red Sox gear.  No "alternate colors" gear, and nothing homemade.  The hats also must be as close to on-field wear as possible.  This means the Yankee "NY" logo or the Red Sox "B" logo. Acceptable apparel:<img src="http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-2505690dt.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="500" /> <img src="http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-1721657dt.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="500" /> <img src="http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-1780464dt.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="500" /> <img src="http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-382934dt.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="500" /> Game on, bitches.

why not just go the loser has to wear the other teams uniform, the jersey should have the winners name on it, i.e. Fallon wins Matty wears a Red Sox uniform with FALLON on the back and the #1 and vice versa.

Sounds alot tougher on Fallon.  I bought a friend of mine a Yankees jersey for college graduation or something and the split second I put on that horrible shirt made me sick.  I was just pleading that no one caught it on camera.

You know, I just realized that between 2001 and 2004, Schilling is probably responsible for more heartache for me than any other ball player.  If the Yankees lose, this is really gonna suck.

I might be able to agree with you if the Yankees had won a championship in 2003 after they "owned" the sox but they didn't. The sox beat the Yankees in 2004 in the most humiliating fashion then won the championship and then made the curse end.

We, on the other hand, will be going up to Boston to a brewery for one of the beer company's tours, which might have the added benefit of a free sample.

No churches, no angry non-entities, no off-color comedians and no radio shows will be involved.
