Besides the usual fare of Pogues, Black 47, and Dropkick Murphy, I am going to be digging up some more traditional stuff this year.

Tommy Makem, Irish Rovers, Saw Doctors, Cherish The Ladies, Clancey Brothers, and of course Christy Moore!

Do any of you guys listen to, or even care about the more traditional music?

Irish Rovers are very good. I haven't heard them in a long time!

Nothing in the world annoys me more than Irish music. It's not an insult, just a fact.

I despise it.

It literally makes me physically ill.

I've had an opportunity to see Tommy Makem live several times. He really kicks it old school. Really intimate venue too. Great.

And Cherish The Ladies, these girls are true musicians!! Caught them twice at the Poconos Irish festival! Pick up their cd "All The Best"

Can't remember where I saw the Saw Doctors. But I know I had fun. Ask American Express.

All I own is the Pogues "If I Should Fall From Grace With God", which is great; I like what I've heard from the Dropkick Murphys and the Chieftans. I'd like to check out some of those bands mentioned in earlier postings.

You're forgetting Flogging Molly, The Dubliners, and there is this other band I believe names Celtic Storm but I'm not sure. If your looking for Scottish The Real McKenzies are great.

Don't forget Carbonleaf. They have a very Irish first album and are from VA. They played the DC Shamrockfest this past Saturday and they will be playing DC101's Kegs and Eggs this Friday.

Yes they're Scottish, but Old Blind Dogs is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Ian Benzie's voice is so smooth and haunting. Plenty of jigs and reels to throw 'em back to.

Fiona Richie used to DJ that back in the day correct?
