In the buildup to Wrestlemania, we hear a lot about guys who are "the future of sports entertainment." Well, who do you think it is? Who are the guys that will be your main eventers, your high mid-carders, the players in the WWE 5, 10 years from today?

My list:

1) Randy Orton

2) John Cena

3) Edge

4) Ken Kennedy

5) CM Punk

6) Johnny Nitro

7) Matt Hardy

8) HHH (assuming his legs haven't fallen off)

9) AJ Styles

10) Samoa Joe

I know, I'm not exactly out on a limb, other than I think WWE outlasts TNA, but when you late it out there is a lot of good, young talent out there right now. Now if only they can book it right...

Edge should be huge, but they haven't done that good of a job with him.

I'd say that if they keep on with the rate of skills they have that Nigel Mc Guiness (sp?) and Bryan Danielson will end up becoming big stars. Danielson especially, if he can adjust his style to work shorter matches.

Also, Colt Cabana should have been signed YESTERDAY, and maybe Claudio?

Right now I think they had planned for Brock Lesnar to still be around in WWE, and that is the role that Batista holds. I kinda want him to stay around just so there's not another needless push. He's got the fan reaction. This decade is full of forgotten pushes. Examples:

Hulk Hogan vs Sean O' Haire (WWE Smackdown, 2003)

Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry (WWE Royal Rumble '06)

The Undertaker vs A-Train (WWE Summerslam '03)

Hulk Hogan & Shawn Michaels vs Mahummad Hassan & Daivari (WWE Backlash '05)

The Undertaker vs Heidenreich (WWE Royal Rumble '05)

Brock Lesnar vs Hardcore Holly, WWE Championship (WWE Royal Rumble '04)

The Undertaker vs Luther Reigns (WWE No Way Out '05)

Vince McMahon vs Zach Gowen (WWE Great American Bash '03)

I'm sure the Great Khali will soon join that list.

1) John Cena - always gets a reaction out of a crowd, and honestly, as easy a target as the guy is because of the shitty super-babyface gimmick, he's shown he can at least hang in most PPV main events.

2) Edge - He'll always be near the top because he's one of the few guys that is both one of the top wrestlers and top promo guys at the same time in the company.

3) Matt Hardy - They've been trying to kill him ever since he came back, and they've given him nothing to do since then and yet he still gets huge reactions. He'll never get a shot at the top because of backstage stuff, but he'll be around.

4) Ken Kennedy - He's going to have to change it up at some point, but I'm pretty confident he will. He's improved a lot since he started which leads me to believe he'll be able to adapt his character over time.

5) C.M. Punk - Great wrestler and way over with the crowd, but on the Matt Hardy path. Backstage stuff will keep him from the top for a long time, but because the crowd loves him, he'll stick around.

That's it...those are the only five relatively younger guys who get any heat in WWE. I don't count guys like HBK, HHH, Taker, and Benoit, because they don't have many years left.

EDIT: Forgot TNA:

1) Samoa Joe - Just the total package. With the exception of HBK, maybe the best wrestler between the two companies.

2) Abyss - Not in the same gimmick...that will eventually have to go, but the guy is such a versatile guy for being about 7'0, 320 that I have to imagine Vince is salivating to get his hands on him.

And that's all for TNA.
