How long? I'm guessing 19 days. He will do something stupid I'm sure, like use a dirty coffee cup to change the water or feed him people food. Or boil it by accident.

That's right about the air. Most experts recomend 10 gallons per fish. I don't go that crazy. I've got a 10 gallon for 2 fish. After 3 years, though, they're getting a bit big for it.

Dave... If you don't want to risk any more dead fish, I can make a video of Ronfish and Fezfish, so you can just watch that on a loop.

BTW... the pic is about a year old. Ronfish (on the right) is almost as big as Fezfish now.

It's also not as simple as just plopping them in tap water, or using regular tap water when changing the water. You first have to make sure that the new water is the same temperature as the water the fish is already in or the shock can kill him. Then, you need to treat the tap water before the fish can go in it. Regular water from the tap contains chlorine and other chemicals that makes it safe for us to drink but will kill fish. That's why if you're starting a new tank you need to run the filter for a couple of days before even adding the fish. At the very least you need to use these drops that they make in order to "treat" the tap water.

Don't forget about suicidal goldfish, they just jump out of their bowls.
