<p>Pretty much every single Krispy Kreme around has closed. I guess a $350,000 doughnut making machine wasn't such a good idea. Though it was fun to see the local land whales inhaling these things&nbsp;a dozen at a time.</p><p>&nbsp;I remember going to the store one night with my gf. We were standing in line waiting to order when a woman came by passing out free doughnuts. &quot;WTF...how they sell these things if they are giving them away&quot; I thought. As I turned and looked at the people sitting around the store&nbsp;I saw tables with dozens and dozens of doughnuts stacked up. Whole families grazing in the shadow of big box Old Navy and Target stores. Depressed, I truged to the front of the line and ordered a single glazed doughnut. Hand in had we walked to my car and never looked back. </p>
