Bowling- Fun or gay

<p>Ok so there are nights where me and my drinking buddays&nbsp;(guys and chicks)&nbsp;have bowling nights.&nbsp; Its more of an excuse for us to get wasted on pitchers of cheap beer and have fun.</p><p>At one point we thought we were pretty good and drunkenly signed up for winter league.&nbsp; All the league people knew we were a bunch drunks.&nbsp; Well&nbsp;towards the end of season we wound being in second place against all these &quot;serious bowlers&quot; with thumb warmers and shit while we are renting our shoes and using the alleys bowling balls.&nbsp; Needless to say they hated us and wanted to strangle us when they went against us cuz we were faced and beating them.</p><p>** mind you we did have a handicap at the start of the season but I will tell you it wasnt exactly the highest.</p><p>We are no longer in a league..too much of a commitmmet.</p><p>Anyway sometimes when I tell bowling stories people look at me like I'm some kinda dork.. I think its a blas and its one of those sports that you get better as the beer flows.</p><p>What areyour thoughts?&nbsp; Fun or gay?</p>

One of the Bulgarian guys was going to go bowling with another co-worker. He'd never done it before. He said that they have bowling alleys in Bulgaria, but that most locals don't do it.

Bowling is most definitely fun.&nbsp; The only time any recreational sport like this gets bad is when someone takes it too seriously.&nbsp; I've been in Dart and Softball leagues that were crazy fun, but there was always one or two teams involved that took themselves (and the &quot;sport&quot;) waaaayy to seriously which made that evening not so fun.&nbsp; Bowling (and Darts, Softball, and even Curling Beerbandit) all rule when it's recreational and fun with your buddays!

Fun or gay?</p><p>me and my drinking buddies (guys and chicks) go almost every friday night, 11pm-2am all you can bowl for 12 bucks. just like you we get hammered off cheap pitchers and have a ton of fun. some of us go out to happy hour before hand around 4pm and get to the lanes around 11pm already sauced. it is far and away one of the highlights of my week. none of us are losers, but ill be the first to admit bowling can be sen as dorky. none of us give a shit though, its a blast!&nbsp; </p>

At 19 I played one year in a league for St Francis Hospital at the lanes in Bayonne and we won the championship. I had a 156 avg and my highgame was 199.

I have that stupid throw the ball straight ahead with a backward spin. Played some 'midnight bowling" in Lawrenceville I believe and the music was pretty good till they started playing cotton-eyed joe.

Wound up buying a bowling ball about 10 years ago and some shoes thinking I may start getting into it with the kids but never did. They never really got into it but moreso liked to hangout and eat. I used the ball a couple years ago and a little hunk chipped off.

I have that stupid throw the ball straight ahead with a backward spin. Played some 'midnight bowling" in Lawrenceville I believe and the music was pretty good till they started playing cotton-eyed joe.

Wound up buying a bowling ball about 10 years ago and some shoes thinking I may start getting into it with the kids but never did. They never really got into it but moreso liked to hangout and eat. I used the ball a couple years ago and a little hunk chipped off.
