What an ass. It's a funny story, but I really hope that waiter nailed him in the head with the DVD.


Piven "Banned From Nobu"

Actor Jeremy Piven has reportedly been banned from America's Nobu restaurants after paying a waiter's tip with a DVD. The Old School star was dining at celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa's restaurant in Aspen, Colorado during the recent Us Comedy Arts Festival. When the bill came, Piven paid up and left the waiter a copy of his Entourage series DVD as a tip. The outraged server threw the DVD at the celebrity diner. A fellow diner tells the New York Daily News, "He (Piven) came in with a large group of 12 or more without reservations and asked for a table. It was a very busy night, but a table, although cramped, was provided. On his way out, he made a nasty comment to the manager: 'Thanks for nothing.'" The actor was later advised to steer clear of all Nobu restaurants. But Piven is playing down the incident in Aspen: "I'm such a fan of Nobu and all of his restaurants. I had a great dinner at the Nobu in Aspen. As always, the meal was excellent and the service was great."

Piven and his good buddy John Cusack, as much as I like them as actors, just seem to have this "King Asshole" vibe reeking off of them. This doesn't help shake that.

Either Piven thinks really high of himself, or he got some crappy service at the restaurant. No matter which is the case, this is a hilarious story.

That is just funny. Fucked up yet still funny. This type of character is what makes Piven such a great actor. I guess he is just playing himself as Ari Gold? Then thats not acting, anyway I still love him.

Some balls on that server! Piven must have been a total dick if the managemnt backed up the server after that. What's up with coming in with 12 fucking people and being a dick? It seems like someone should have jumped in and tipped the server themselves.

He is a dick but still the best thing on that show. But isn't that kinda tacky to be walking around with a DVD of something that you are in? It's not like he's in a garage band, giving out demo CDs trying to get signed. He's an Emmy Award winning actor on a hit HBO series! He's walking around with a portable "Big Ass Prize Closet"?
