OK, first question: Will he be working in Phoenix, the actual city, or the Phoenix metro? The Valley is a huge place, and if I start giving you advice, I don't want to talk up one area if he's going to be working in another. (An example locally would be me talking up Westchester when his job is actually in Jersey City)

I'm guessing if he's not working in Phoenix, the actual city, he'll be working in either Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, or Mesa. Find out where and it'll give more info.

There's a lot of nice, gated communities. I would avoid Tempe like the plague because it's a college town. You can also get a good judgment on how nice the area is going to be by how much the rents are. Is he going to rent or buy?

I'll be PMing you, but in case there are other opinions:

He will be working close to sky harbor. We are leaning towards the areas of Tempe (hes just out of college), Scottsdale, and eastern Pheonix.

I read about high crime , and I know its only in certian areas. I want to know these though.
